Anything involving any harm on animals, animated or otherwise, gets to me. Which is why I am still angry at a friend for making me watch My Dog Skip.

I just saw Dreamgirls and all I can say is when Jennifer Hudson sings "And I am Telling You I'm Not Going" I actually broke down in tears and I have never ever broke down over anyone's individual performance in a movie. It was that powerful.

Anything involving any harm on animals, animated or otherwise, gets to me. Oh, I'm totally the same way. Animated, live, doesn't matter. I'm a weeping mess. It doesn't matter if it's winds up having a happy ending, either - if they live or get better, escape from the bad guy, etc. Just the fact that they were sick/hurt/lost/ in peril, etc. is enough for me.

I cry at the end of "Turner & Hooch." Oh, do I cry. I also teared up watching "Babe" when he says, "I miss my mom!" *Snarf*

I'm seriously questioning my sanity. Mary Poppins came on t.v. over the weekend. I started getting tears in my eyes during the Feed the Birds song. I couldn't believe it. In my head I'm going, "The birds are her friends! The birds love her!" and "Feed those birds, people! Feed them!"
...Okay... Getting... tears... in... eyes again... Must hit Post Reply and get out of here...

Ditto "Someone's Waiting for You" from The Rescuers, and "Candle on the Water" from Pete's Dragon, which we sang in Jr. Hi choir, so I really should've been over it. Fucking Disney. I know what those corporate pig-dog scum bastards are doing, and yet, still... here come the tears!

It was that powerful. Ditto. It was a combination of sadness for the situation in the film and just being in awe of this performance. Tears were flowing.

Okay, I was telling my mom about this the other day. This part used to really bother me as a child...because I thought, here's this old woman, who is close to dying, and all her life is is...FEEDING THE BIRDS, tuppence (sp?) a bag. Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag. And it really bothered me that this was what it had all come down to for her. In my head, she was homeless and Mr. Banks was kind of ridiculing her, and it WAS NOT NICE.
I obviously thought too much. This part still gets me, though.
On a separate note, I think Mr. Banks is awesome. Ha. I love when the piano flies into him and he plays three notes, and it's all out of tune and requests that it be tuned.
"But George...you don't play." "That is entirely beside the point!"
And the part when he's trying to figure out how Mary Poppins got the kids' letter is HILARIOUS. "Are you ill?"

Yes, Sense and Sensibility when Elinor learns that Edward isn't married...and also the end with all the happy couples.
Also The Lord of The Rings when Galdalf dies...the look on everyone's faces. Also later when Frodo is in despair because of the burden of carrying the ring and then he remembers Gandalf's words about what what to do with your time while you're here (or something like that). Also when Sam runs after Frodo into the water because Gandalf told him not to leave his side...
Or ET when ET picks up the plant and carries it with him...I think I'm the only one who knows what I'm talking about here.

I know from E.T. and the plant. 10-year-old Iceblink was never the same! (I still think that's a really great movie, too.)
