Oh, PSH was great in "The Talented Mr. Ripley," as was Cate Blanchett. Every time I see that movie, I can't help but think what a shame it was that she and Gwynnie couldn't have switched roles...

After seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 2 this weekend, I would have to say that not only was Johnny Depp a total scene stealer in both, but Geoffrey Rush was just so freaking awesome as Barbossa. He looked like he was having so much fun the entire time being a complete bastard.
In the crapfest that was America's Sweetheart, Christopher Walken was an absolute doll. For the record, I adore that movie, but he was seriously the only one who seemed to notice the movie was total shite.
I will agree that Steve Carell and Vince Vaughn were the best part of Anchorman.

Christopher Walken is the best thing about every movie he's in, although he did have competition from Isla Fisher in "Wedding Crashers."

I know a ton of people hate Jennifer Aniston and think she is a bad actress, but she was terrific in "She's The One". She stole every single scene she was in, IMO.

I love AMERICA'S SWEETHEARTS. Stanley Tucci was brilliant in every scene.

Stanley Tucci should be given an award for brilliant, consistent scene stealing. Devil Wears Prada? Owned it.

I can't help but think what a shame it was that Cate couldn't have played both roles... And speaking of Ripley, Jude Law's performance here is one big scene stealing. His death sucked the life out of this film.

Jude was good in that movie, how could I have forgotten? They had a kickass supporting cast. Matt Damon was okay, but Gwyneth was just so blah.

Single. Thing. Even the snoozefest which was The Terminal. He and some of the smaller supporting cast were the ONLY things which redeemed that ordeal. And his "Big Night" (which he directed and which co-stars Tony Shaloub) is one of my favorite small, indie films. I keep wanting to open a thread for him, but I'm scared of discovering something which will destroy my love.

Kafka's mention of The Terminal reminded me that Kumar Pallana is a consummate scene stealer. He was great in The Terminal but he completely stole every scene he was in in The Royal Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket and Rushmore. Wes Andersen really knows how to use him to great effect.
