Inspired by a comment in the DVD Super Collection thread, I'm curious to know about people's DVD collections. It seems like you can tell a lot about a person by the kind of movies they like. Plus, I'm just nosy! I have almost 600 DVDs in my collection; organized alphabetically, otherwise I'd never be able to keep track. The majority of my DVDs are drama and foreign language; I think I have only two action movies. I'm not big on anime and sci-fi. My lasest addiction is TV shows on DVD; I spent all of today watching Season 2 of Party of Five. I have a really annoying habit of watching my DVDs with the closed-captioning/english subtitles on, when I have no hearing problems whatsoever. Hee. DeepDiscountDVD is my new BFF. I spend way to long on Netflix, just surfing through to see which titles will be available for purchase in the near future. We won't even get into how long I spent scouring the Previously Viewed section at Blockbuster. And you?

I'm not a sci-fi fan either nor am I a horror fan. In my home I have over 700 DVDs including TV shows, foreign films, etc. It's a very eclectic collection.

His mum is deaf so he's used to it, but for me it means I don't watch the actors but the words.

My DVD collection is very small by other people's standards. If there's a theme to my collection I'd have to say I buy movies that fooled me. Such as The Usual Suspects and things like that. I guess I buy DVDs that I want to look at again and again to figure out how the movie tricked me and what clues I should have picked up on if I was a little bit smarter!
The rest of them are guaranteed tear-jerkers, such as Titanic. You know how sometimes you just need to cry? Well, I've got a nice selection of movies to help me do that!
Hey, I just realized -- my DVD collection is my psychiatrist!
