I love this thread! I'm going to resurrect it.
I remember that... even better, his pallbearers carry him away walking in pairs with their arms linked around each others' waists, looking um, very hooyay.
I saw a doozy recently in Goya's Ghosts, which is set in 19th century Spain. There's a scene where a foreign army bursts into a church where a mass is going on and a priest is singing in a beautiful tenor voice. Everyone turns to look at the invadors and the mass stops. The captain tells them nicely to disperse and go home. The lead priest makes some remark that this is a House of God and not subject to Napoleon's armies, blah blah blah sanctimoniouscakes, and signals to the singing priest to continue. Which he does, rather nervously. The French captain responds by whipping out his rifle and shooting the singing priest with a BLAM! and he falls straight on his back while everyone looks shocked. OMG, I lost it then and there and thought I was going to die of laughter!

I'm watching the 2010 Robin Hood, and I really like it, but this line from William Hurt's character cracked me up: "GODFREY'S COHORTS ... ARE FRENCH!!"
I know that France was England's bitter enemy at the time, but when delivered in the classic "Who will follow me?" type of bellow, it was just hilarious. It didn't help that I kept thinking of Milhouse saying "Look out, Itchy! He's Irish!"

I'm trying to remember the last unintentionally hilarious movie I saw, and it's got to be The Spirit. Horrible acting, and Samuel L. Jackson kept going on about eggs. Hilarious. That was the last time I ever saw a movie without checking Rotten Tomatoes first.

Is Brad Pitt one of the champions of this thread or what? My favorite inappropriate laughter moment is from Interview with the Vampire, when he's burning down his Louisiana mansion. Something about the way Pitt yells "This place is CURSED! DAAAAAAAAAAAAMNED!!!!" just slays me. It's like, his face is so angry, but his voice is still so flat. Loud and flat. With Troy, it's probably easier to narrow down a list of actors who didn't make me giggle at some point. My sister and I went around snapping "Do not mock the gods!", Peter O'Toole style, for years after we saw that movie. Also the part where Brian Cox screams in rage after his brother gets killed, and his face goes like bright purple. Oh, and the part in Van Helsing where all the little monster Dracula babies are flying everywhere attacking people. They start exploding in little pops. Reminds me of popcorn and I couldn't stop laughing. Everything Richard Roxburgh did in that movie made me laugh (intentionally I suspect). Also Frankenstein's monster. There's also a scene where Kate Beckinsale's character starts rambling about how she misses the sea or she's never seen the sea or some shit, and it cuts to Hugh Jackman, and he has one of the purest WTF expressions I've ever seen.

Oh help, don't get me thinking about Van Helsing or else I'll be giggling at my desk all day.

Oh, Van Helsing is *infamous* amongst me and my friends for how unintentionally hysterical and bad it was. There's at least a dozen posts on my friend's blog that reference our Ill-Fated Trip to see it. I spent the entire time hissing "Two. Hundred. Million. Dollars" (the rumored budget) in disbelief/horror every 15 minutes. As the film ended, the few other theatergoers turned around and shot eye-daggers at my group and said "it wasn't that funny, you guys!" - except, it was. It totally was.

The scene at the end where you see her ghost over the moon? Or some such nonsense? Hi-Larious. I nearly rolled off my couch laughing at it.

Hee, huntergrayson. I still apologize to my group of friends for organizing the trip to go see that movie at the theatre.

My then-12-year-old daughter and I got the stinkeye from other patrons when we proceeded to giggle through the first Twilight movie. Still one of the most unintentionally hilarious flicks I've ever seen. Sparkly vampires? REALLY?!? ;D
