The other night I was watching a DVD of the movie version of Agatha Christie's "The Mirror Crack'd" (After all, I AM Miss Marple).
The cast included Angela Lansbury, Geraldine Chaplin, Tony Curtis, Edward Fox, Rock Hudson, Kim Novak, and Elizabeth Taylor.
In the movie, a murder takes place which involves a famous actress (Elizabeth Taylor) who has taken up residence in the village where Miss Marple lives. The actress and her director husband (Rock Hudson) are preparing to shoot a movie about Mary, Queen of Scots who will be played by Taylor.
Toward the middle of the movie, they are shooting a scene with Queen Mary, sitting on a bed with a young man. Liz is stroking the young man's head, clasping him to her bosom and murmuring repeatedly, "Jamie, Jamie".
I looked, then looked again, then re-looked.
The young man was Pierce Brosnan!
He had no lines, was not listed in the credits at the end, but it was definitely Brosnan. He appeared to be concentrating mightily on NOT noticing Liz's bosom, which was amply displayed.
I checked his bio over on imdb.com and ... yes, this movie is listed.
Has anyone else had this experience? A quick glimpse of an actor/actress before fame struck. Blink once and you would have missed them.

Harrison Ford in Apocalypse Now surprised me.
AMC ran The Outsiders last week or so. We all knew the famous guys but the real shock to me was Diane Lane as Cherry Valance.

I was watching the miniseries of Stephen King's The Stand the other day, and I was startled to see Ken Jenkins playing Fran Goldsmith's dad. He's currently well-known for playing the sarcastic, bitter Dr. Kelso on TV's Scrubs, so it was a real shock seeing him play a sweet middle-aged man in the miniseries.

I used to faithfully watch 21 Jump Street. I bought the first and second season recently. I had forgotten that Red Foreman was the FBI guy that worked with the gang on occasion. Don't expect me to remember actor's real names. I have a hard enough time remembering their names in these assinine shows I waste my life watching!
Also Brad Pitt, Paulie Shore,Jason Priestley, Mindy Cohn, Christina Applegate and Blair Underwood and the guy who beat up his wife Diane Lane were in it, not in big parts, in the second season.

I watched Witness recently for the first time in years and was surprised to see Viggo Mortensen as Alexander Godunov's brother.

Here's another one I always watch for:
White Christmas The last third of the film. Rosemary Clooney is mad at Bing and has run off to New York City to do a single act, believing her sister is planning to marry Danny Kaye.
Clooney does a torch song called "Love, You Didn't Do Right By Me". As she stands on stage singing in the night club, 4 young men wearing black dance around her. One of them is George Chakiris who would win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Bernardo in West Side Story a few years later.

I rented the Party of Five DVDs for season one from Netflix and there are a host of "Oh my God, is that so and so??" moments. The one that startled me the most was when Matthew Fox (of Lost fame) gets out of bed with Laura Innes (Dr. Kerry Weaver from ER). Talk about unlikely bedmates!

Christopher Lloyd in Star Trek III and Kirstie Alley in Star Trek II. THey do not really stand out during the films. Only when rewatching both films a couple of times did it hit me.

Clam tom foolery aside, Alley was gorgeous in that Star Trek movie. Wow.
ETA: OMG. I watched Hackers tonight (love me some Johnny Lee Miller) and Mark Anthony plays an FBI agent! I almost wet the couch when I realized who it was. I was laughing so hard my boyfriend thought I'd seriously lost it.
