I thought it pretty good definitely not great. too long by at least 20 minutes. Also there were too many scenes where the characters had to tell you what they were doing and why they were doing what they were doing. That kind of stuff should be taken care of in the script in my opinion. I swear that Ellen Page was put in the movie solely to ask those types of questions in order to "fill the audience in" I will say one thing, I hated the score. Bumm Bummm BBUUUUMMMMMMM!!!! for 2.5 hours wears a person down after a while.

I *knew* you'd see it today, bklynred! I was blown away. MINDFUCKTACULAR. I want to buy the special edition DVD, like, RIGHT NOW, and watch it 700 times.

Of course! I'm ALL over the DVD. I did think they had to explain a lot but damn, I was buckled in for the ride. I left the theater grinning. I'm even pleased that I didn't get every nuance; I think it's cool to figure out a mystery or two. And even the trailer...now I get why they had to piece it together so cryptically. First satisfying movie this summer for me.
And I totally thought "miiiindf*ck" at times but gleefully, if that makes sense. The Zimmer score felt familiar and comforting to me. Reminded me of other movies I thought were cool.

That was bananas! I do think some of the exposition and overly long action sequences could have been cut down in favor of character - for more emotional payoff - but it was still pretty engrossing.
My screening was packed, and people were pretty pleased when it ended. I've seen a few reviews recommending repeat viewings to figure out some of the more puzzling parts, but I think I can wait for DVD.
I liked Joseph Gordon-Levitt's role the best, it seemed the most "tangible" if that makes any sense.

JGL and Tom Hardy nailed it for me. Great performances. I wonder how the actors reacted to the script when they got it though... "And then there's dreams...and then there's more dreams..."

I felt a bit guilty, too, that I enjoyed the score so much, when Zimmer's name came up in the credits. Three hours later, the emotional whallop is hitting me as much as the thrills did while in the theatre.

Just got back and got damn this movie was the shit! I liked how when I was leaving the theater, my mom, dad, and myself all had different explanations for the movie. Basically, I thought that the story started in a different part than where the movie literally started. I know that probably makes no sense, but we went to a late showing and i'm kind of scattered right now. haha. I too am DEFINITELY buying this when it comes on DVD. Also, for those of you that have seen it, did your audience freak out at the end? Mine sure did!! People were literally leaning toward the screen to see the last second and when it went to black people were like "NOOOOOOOOO!". haha

Nasty piece of work. And I mean that in the best possible sense. A lesser director would have turned this into a convoluted heap of nothing. But I had a great time.
That said: I still hate Leonardo DiCaprio. Am I the only person in the world that thinks he can't act?
But okay, in no particular order:
1. JGL will never get the credit he deserves for this movie. That's almost guaranteed. He was great. Especially when his character stole a kiss from EP's. There's like a whole backstory there that we didn't see on that guy. So, that makes me think... 2. Sequel. There's a lot more going on here that I wanted more answers to. Like was the inception really aimed at Cobb? Is that why the father chose EP to be the architect?. Also, are there like, warring factions of these guys running around? Is that how Fischer was so well-trained? And of course, more on the JGL character, to say nothing of the ending. 3. I liked the internal logic about timespan. However, the internal logic on spatial relationships kind of fell apart on me when the anti-gravity didn't trickle down past the second level. I mean, I guess that things are less intense there, which is why Sato was still walking around and stuff, but still, shouldn't everyone else have been affected?
All that aside, I really did like it. It didn't feel like a mess at all and like I said, with a different director it probably would have been.
