I don't think it was a sarcastic joke, but I do think his apology was genuine and correctly acknowledged what he did wrong. It does help that Jeremy Renner's apology was so bad, the two apologies next to each other really set up a Goofus/Gallant dichotomy (Evans is OBVIOUSLY Gallant).

Yeah but there is also the comments he made about Sandra Bullock and Salma Hayek. He said this
So yeah, frat boy. Maybe he has matured. But if I were Salma, I would have smacked the shit out of him if I ran into him.

Ugh. Yeah, he's not exactly the most woke dude around. Calling out Kanye isn't exactly punching above his weight class.

Yeah, that's super cringey, but also from when he was 24. Maybe I am trying to excuse it because I am a huge fan, but I would hope he has matured somewhat in thirteen years.
Anyway, I live for his twitter.

“Weak jawed potato?” Not necessarily agreeing but that’s funny.

People still play the FMK game all the time with male and female celebrities. The game doesn't involve calling women sluts or whores or speculating that the female subjects of the game are promiscuous and into threesomes.

Admittedly, I didn't read the interview, just what was quoted here, which sounds a lot like he was saying that he'd marry Sandra and screw Salma. On the other hand, I have no idea who he is so maybe he is a sexist jerk.

At this point I'm not giving weathy white dudes the benefit of any doubt. They've had far too much already.

Exactly. The question had nothing to do with fuck, marry or kill. It was simply a question about love scenes. He decided to bring up Sandra and Salma. At this point I'm not giving weathy white dudes the benefit of any doubt. They've had far too much already.
