Looks like they're totally rewriting it, too. What's wrong with the original story from the graphic novel? Or just making a new movie altogether, that's merely "inspired by"?

Seriously? Ugh! And watch them make it all PG-13 to appeal to the Twilight "Supernatural immortal love? Squeeee!" crowd.

WTF? The movie was not that good. There's no need for a remake. Ever.

Wasn't it George Clooney who argued that movies that didn't quite work the first time are the ones that should be remade, rather than classics? The original Ocean's Eleven is a nice record of the Rat Pack living it up and the ending is nice, but on the whole, it's not exactly good.
I don't mind remakes, but the ones coming out now are starting to make me feel old!

Wasn't it George Clooney who argued that movies that didn't quite work the first time are the ones that should be remade, rather than classics? I think the late critic Gene Siskel said the same thing. I'd love to see remakes of "Bonfire of the Vanities" and "Freedomland", crappy movies that were based on great novels. I keep reading that Guillermo del Toro is making "The Haunted Mansion" for Disney but wasn't there a Haunted Mansion movie with Eddie Murphy only 7 or 8 years ago? Are we supposed to pretend that didn't happen?

Russell Brand is starring in a remake of Arthur. The reason that Dudley Moore worked in that role is because he didn't necessarily seem like a drunken buffoon. Russell Brand DEFINES buffoon. Too obvious. (I have no idea what Dudley Moore was like, and I was a small child when the original movie came out, so I'm going w/ the impression I have about him. Anyone can feel free to correct me about his image.)

That Jaws remake better not be true. Just no. I like Tracy jordan and all, but no. It was Spielberg at his finest.

Hollywood is totally dry on ideas. They'll remake all these movies and more and stamp them as "reimaginings." That's why I'm hesitant to criticize directors like Chris Nolan, who at least is giving originality a SHOT.

What I can't figure out is why they are remaking Spiderman... why remake a movie that is only a decade old? Marvel has a bazillion superheros they can pull from - this just seems really lazy.
I'd like to see them re-do GhostBusters. I always thought the original guys were too old for the roles. But purists would want a scene by scene remake, and that would ruin it.
