The thing that pisses me off about her is that she doesn't recognize how lucky she is, how privileged she is. She could just as easily been born dirt poor, or with a serious disability that rendered her unable to work. She doesn't seem to get how random life is, how a twist of fate can change her life. The woman has zero humility.

She owes her entire career to a random twist of fate, which makes her refusal to understand such things even more infuriating. We only know who Elisabeth Hasselbeck is because of her stint on the second season of Survivor. If she hadn't been selected for that show (on the basis of being young, cute, and blonde; Mark Burnett has a quota for that demographic every season), the only reason you'd know her name is because she's married to a benchwarming, third-string pro quarterback and sister-in-law to a Super Bowl quarterback.

And the main reason for her fame was that she got as far as she did on Survivor. If she had gotten voted out early in the season, hardly anybody would remember her name. She certainly wouldn't have gotten that shopping show on the Style Network And I doubt she would have married an NFL quarterback and be on a morning talk show.

Didn't she bond with some older man on Survivor? What happened to him? I wonder what he thinks of her now.

She and Tim were together in college, so she probably would have married him.

So if I understand this right if it weren't for Survivor, she'd be just another nameless blonde, thin, and pretty pro-athlete's wife. Ha! There's absolutely nothing special about her at all.
