Yeah, I remember reading the article about her in Vogue a couple months ago when she made the comments about the girls and her cream and thinking how disconnected she must be from reality. But then if people had been fawning over me since I was 15 or 16, and people paid me millions to take my picture, I would probably think that the world was a wonderful, easy place too. No wonder celebrities are such twats.

But there is a silver lining. Out of the frustration for not being able save the girls, she invented a skin care line. ROFL! That totally sounds like something out of Zoolander! I think my strong reaction to her pontificating on the pregnancy and breastfeeding is because it reminds me of RL moms I know who act exactly like that. They had/have an easy birth/pregnancy/child and immediately assume that anyone who didn't do things the way they did are doing it wrong because they're stupid or lacking in some other way. As in: "I don't understand why anyone would be ignorant enough to have a c-section! Natural birth is so easy and good for the baby!" Err, maybe if you had to because your baby was in distress and might die at any minute? For example... Or: "Everyone should breastfeed! Why are some people so misinformed and silly that they don't? It's so easy and natural!" Except if your baby is preemie and/or is unable to latch after 3 months even with all the best help of all the lactation consultants available. For example. I don't mind people sharing their experiences and tips, but everyone should be aware that not everyone's experience is the same when it comes to kids, breasts and childbirth. There are a lot of judgmental/bitchy/arrogant/empathy-lacking moms everywhere and the way they assume everyone who doesn't do things their way is WRONG rubs me the wrong way big time. /rant over. And yes, I have run into several moms like this, why do you ask? We MUST run in the same circles! That line about the cream is Hil-ar-ious! I had NO idea. Wow! Just wow!

I cannot believe it! This thread is gold! Who would ever think or say such a thing?

I am so happy that Gisele realized that what these poor, neglected girls needed was skin cream! How I wish we all could be so enlightened.

Wonder how much said cream costs?
ETA: I looked it up: $70. Yeah, I'm sure young, troubled girls will be all over that.

LOL, I know, right? She should just go ahead and open the Gisele Bundchen School for Kids Who Don't Read Good and Want to Learn How to Do Other Stuff Better, Too since she's all about the chirruns.

Ok, if anybody ever sees Gisele at a gas station and just spraying herself and fellow models with gasoline RUN! Zoolander has taught us this will not end well!
I've been trying to follow the logic of creating a skin cream to help young girls. I ended up giving myself a headache.

I don't think a link was posted earlier, but I managed to find the full Vogue article, if anyone cares to read it. I haven't had a chance to check it out myself yet, so IDK if there is anything else in the article that can top Gisele's comment about her face cream.

What an odd mix of appealing and unappealing in that Vogue interview! She's obviously very much into the environmental movement and helping out there (including through the UN), and she's generous with her money for causes (and gave 1.5 million dollars to Haiti), but then there's that whole skin cream thing. Except, it's not JUST a skin cream: it's a mud mask too!
She really doesn't seem like a very interesting person. But good for her for using part of her wealth for good causes.
