We're going to see this tonight. I'm so excited. ETA: AWESOME! Loved it. Freaking loved every bit of this movie. It so lived up to my expectations. I was surprised by the humor. I didn't expect it. I thought I'd be laughing at the cheesiness, which I did, but it was also some funny stuff. The action was off the chain. I want Jason Statham's babies. The man was too cool with the knives. Well done, Sly! Bring on the sequels!

Saw this last night and thought it delivered as a shoot-em up. Loved the cameos (though it would have worked better as a surprise), loved Hale Caesar's massive gun, loved YinYang's reasoning in deserving a raise. And for the record, Statham half out of the plane shooting up the dock was one of the hottest things I've seen on screen.

Loved it! Pure essence of big dumb action movie. Almost like the "Scream" version of action, but not too much irony to spoil things. I almost want to write a paper on it, but I'm no longer taking film classes. The last "shit getting blown up scene" was a bit overlong for me, but otherwise it was awesome! Those guys must have had a great time making it.
David Zayas (Angel from Dexter) was perfect as the general, just this side of scenery chewing.

I wish I'd loved it as much as you guys. I wanted to love it, as in "it's so bad, it's good." So very glad we didn't pay to watch this in the cinema or I'd be angry. As it is, I'm just slightly annoyed we spent an evening watching it when we could have watched something else.

I felt like I was watching a live action video game. It kept me awake at least. I know this movie is doing well domestically, but this movie has big international box office written all over it. So, MrsCatHead, you saw the movie the way I saw the movie, eh?

We watched this the other night so hubby could get his "watching shit get blown up" fix, and it delivered. If you ask me, there was too much plot (hubby's take: "Why am I watching these guys talk about their feelings? There needs to be more explosions"). :)It was fun and over the top; after a stressful week, it was awesomely mindless and stupid.
There better be sequels.
My only issue? Schwartzenegger's scene was so stilted, awkward and forced that it hurt to watch. As soon as he walked out of the church, the fun resumed, but it was so bad, I was actually uncomfortable watching it.

Heck, I'd want a TV series. You of course get b- or c-grade stand-ins (I'm still trying to figure out who Kevin Sorbo would play...if Lorenzo Lamas has a beer gut these days, maybe he could take over for Mickey Rourke. Bring in Denis Leary, too, since Rescue Me is wrapping up) because it would otherwise be too expensive.

I rented this today because I couldn't wait to get the DVD in my Xmas stocking. I love this movie. It's so over the top.

EXPENDABLES 2 (or Clash of the 80s Action Movie Titans)was a whole hell of a lot of fun. It's *miles* better than the first one. A few too many throwback jokes to Norris and Schwarzenegger, but still a really good time. We had a blast.

The second one looks better than the first, I'm down to see it (and I've seen maybe some of Statham's movies and that's about it). Never even seen Rocky (Oh wait, I have seen Copland).
