Zep was not the only group that borrowed heavily from the blues--go listen to the first Rolling Stones recordings. They're like a blues archive. True, but the difference between other bands such as Cream (to use an example I know bit more about) and Zep is that Cream always gave proper songwriting credits/royalties to the songs' authors, whereas Zep credited it all to themselves. They were successfully sued several times over this issue in later yrs, whereas there were no such lawsuits against Cream. I don't mean to knock the band overall, I do like a lot of their stuff, just wanted to explain why the plagiarism issue hangs over them more than most other bands of that era.
