Did anybody else catch him on Letterman the other night? Man he looks old.
He still has the same swagger though and it's good to see him again. I was a die hard Led Zeppelin fan in the 70's.

I love him with a passion, and have for over 20 years. I hated to see him looking so very...geriatric.
I saw him perform live with Jimmy Page in '95. It was around my birthday, and the lovely Mr. snarkylyn paid $225 per ticket for us to sit in the front row (you know you've found a good man if he helps to feed your obsessions). RP was looking older but still very hot, then. He reached down and grabbed hands, mine among them. Squee!
I still blast Zep in my convertible all the time, to the great embarrasement of my 14 year old daughter, who rides shotgun.

Snarkylyn, you are one lucky girl!
Jimmy used to be one hot tomato too. Nobody rocked harder than they did in their prime. I think their old stuff still creams all the rock that has come out since.

I saw him too. He did look kinda rough, but his voice was still good. I guess some people don't age that well, even if they don't have many vices.
I heard he's the regular sponsor of a North African music festival, and for a while was dating the beautiful and talented Indian singer Najma Zahktar.

Someone interviewed him when Guns N' Roses were in their prime and Axl had dissed him about something. All Robert said in response was that Axl's hair always looked so bad and that he would be a much happier person if he got a perm.

I like his new single that I'm hearing on the local classic rock station. I'm probably the only one here (esp. in this thread) who really didn't care for Led Zep.
I am curious if Plant owns the rights to his songs?

If you mean the Led Zeppelin catalogue, I think the ownership of a lot those songs was always dicey. Weren't they notorious for ripping off other people's songs and taking credit for writing them?

Lots of Zep's early stuff was loosely based on early blues tunes that dated back to the turn of the last century. And because the early bluesmen were all black, they certainly didn't reap any royalties or copywrite benefits from their efforts--just creative acknowledgement.
Zep was not the only group that borrowed heavily from the blues--go listen to the first Rolling Stones recordings. They're like a blues archive.
