So I keep seeing comparisons to Idina Menzel, but I cannot for the life of me tell their voices apart. I might get shanked for this, but they both have that bland as hell Disney Princess voice though one's voice isn't as thin. So who's who? Can someone please tell me from what point it's Idina or Lea? Here's a video of them singing the song in the show. On the parts where they're singing together, Idina's mostly doing the melody while Lea's doing the harmony. The profile shot when Lea enters in the background still freaks me out. I don't think they look that much alike side-by-side, but there they sure do!

incognito, I don't know when Jenna Ushkowitz joined the SA cast. The story I heard was Lea was horrible to everyone and made Krysta Rodriguez cry.
litzikohanovich, I wouldn't call Lea a filthy hoor unless I knew for 100% fact that she is one. I've known a few women before and after they became famous, and I would never denigrate a woman simply because she has become successful. I knew Julie Bowen before she became successful, and I don't like her as a person, but I'd never call her a filthy hoor because as far as I know she ain't one. Lea's been a filthy hoor since waaaay before Glee, so it has nothing to do with her success. It has to do with the fact that she is a nasty piece of trash...who, imo, has a gorgeous singing voice and a great face for radio.

Lea's on my shit list just for that. I've heard nothing but good things about Krysta (in terms of personality), and when I met her in the autograph line after an Addams Family show, she was the sweetest person. Uh, not that you can really tell what a person is truly like after talking to them for two seconds, but everyone else who has met her seems to say the same thing. So...yeah. DIAF, Lea.

BULLSHIT. I don't buy it for a second that she was eight years old when she "discovered" that she could sing. You mean to tell me that she NEVER sang ANYTHING until she was eight? Bitch, please. Maybe she means truly singing as opposed to a young kid's warbling? Eight sounds pretty young to me.

I want more gossip from Wol about anyone. Maybe we could set up a gossip thread about random celebrities and Wol (& other insiders can share).

When she didn't get the lead in the West Side Story revival, her mother called the producers and screamed at them "Why are you trying to destroy my baby's dreams?" I usually think of Arthur Laurents as a mean old SOB, but I would've loved to hear his reaction to that. And I'm sorry, but is Maria even in Lea's range? It's operatic in parts. Regardless, I wouldn't want to see her scrunching her face up at Tony during the fire escape scene. Lea belts on Glee because she can. She's got a nice voice, but it does nothing to move me. Especially when you compare her to someone like Chenoweth - or as pointed out above, Kurt or Mercedes. Rachel may have a technically superior voice, but it doesn't touch me the way the other two can. That's it in a nutshell. Technical skill varies, but pretty much everyone else on Glee sings with more heart (and that includes the much-maligned Finn). I like Lea as Rachel, but don't think that she's in that Idina/Cheno/Barbra league that she thinks she is. Those ladies can belt it out, but know when to dial it back, too.

One thing I find remarkable is that Wol's testimonial about how awful Lea Michele is is just one of sooooo many. In all honesty I've never seen a celeb's reputation for being horrible spread so rapidly and come from such a wide variety of sources. She must be a real piece of work. LOL.
