I'm becoming a superhero fangirl all over again. Used to love the X-Men (before they were a franchise). Now, I'm reading Birds of Prey and sometimes the Flash.
Discuss.

I like The Walking Dead and The Stand (by Stephen King). I was also liking The Talisman (by King and Peter Straub) but it looks like the publisher chose not to continue the series.

I loved the Sandman series, but haven't been following DC's Vertigo titles of late.

I used to really like Matt Wagner's Mage books. I only got partway through Mage; The Hero Defined before I couldn't find them anymore.

Up until 12 years ago I was a heavy comic book collector, collecting comics for most of my life. I built a whole walk in closet just to house the comic boxes. But when I had my son, I found I had absolutely no time to keep up on the myriad characters from all the different publishers, so I went cold turkey on the weekly comic buying, bagged and filed away the unread stacks and closed the closet door. Now instead of being a comic geek, I'm just you're basic run-of-the-mill sci-fi geek.
I'm pondering what to do to get all that closet space back... I might have to start selling on ebay or something.

I stayed at a redneck resort on the coast and on the front desk they had a whole basket of recent Spiderman comics to give away to the kids. I thought that was so cool.

Bumped up to discuss how great X-Factor is and how much DC Comics suck right now.

The New 52 has ticked me off. I'm a huge Superman fan and love Lois and Clark together as a married couple. New 52? Never together, working on different papers and she's got a new douchey boyfriend. Hate.

I read Voodoo because of my love for the WildC.A.T.S., but soon lost interest. I was a huge Teen Titans stan from way back, but this reboot is really crappy. I may just get a few trades and write most of the new stuff off.
On the Marvel side, I am in love with Peter David's X-Factor. Excellent writing and the artwork is pretty decent. I have to wade through the huge pile of X-comics to decide what my second favorite one is. I loved X-Force while it lasted. I'm trying to get into the books of Wolverine's children (Daken and X-23), but the artwork sucks so badly.
I'm debating on if I want to continue with the Black Panther as well. Doomwar was a disappointment. So now I am wading through my collection to see what I will keep and what will end up on eBay...

I was a huge Teen Titans fan back in the day. That was the best team, all that young adult angst and anger. Good times. It cemented my love of Dick Grayson.
I've not read any X books in a really long time. I have the original X-Factor from the 80's (in a closet somewhere) but with all the interest in this Peter David one I may have to check it out again.
