I'm still fascinated by the fact that much of Hannah and Her Sisters was filmed in Mia Farrow's actual apartment. Creepy as he is, Woody's movies always have interesting interiors.

Seeing Playing by the Heart not only did I fall in love with Jon Stewart, but also the house his love interest Gillian Anderson lives in, The Stahl House. It's been in dozens of movies over the decades and I was happy to see my other celebrity husband Colin Firth living there in Where the Truth Lies.

Maybe random, but when I was a kid, I always wanted to live in the house from Clue. My dream as a child was to live in a house with secret passageways and that house had a couple of great ones.

I've never seen either of those movies, but when I clicked on the link, I had a total "Hey! It's That House!" moment. Maybe I'm recalling it from Charlie's Angels 2. Or Galaxy Quest, although I don't recall seeing it from that iconic angle in that movie--I just remember the glass walls when the aliens visit a hungover, shoeless Tim Allen. That LA Times article was a fun read. Just remembered one of my faaaavorite movies for sets and settings--Aeon Flux, filmed in Berlin. The architecture and interior design are probably the only reason to see the movie, but they're one hell of a reason. I totally want the stylized-Japanese-cloud-shaped wall lights ( scroll down), and I seem to recall the interior of the dirigible being cool, although I can't readily find images of it online.

I hated the movie, but loved Meg Ryan's apartment in "You've Got Mail".

Dickie Greenleaf's house in The Talented Mr. Ripley was to die for. A little white house along the Amalfi Coast with a big terrace and open, airy rooms. I eventually ended up travelling to that part of the world just to immerse myself in all that sunny, Italian goodness.

oooh, this thread is cool. There are a great many movies that were completely awful, but I kept watching because I thought the sets were wonderful.
Some of my favorite sets are from Jean-Pierre Jeunet movies. How they manage to get places that are often primitive, poor, and less than savory, seem attractive I'd like to know.
