What a sweet commercial. I don't understand why people think that was about teh gay, but then I'm from a place that doesn't believe men showing affection for one another promotes homosexuality. I'm guessing you had to sign in because it was a beer commercial. We don't want chilluns to see an ad for alcohol, do we? Three ads I've been seeing lately make me think there are some ad agencies got lazy and co-opted the successful concept of another company. T-Mobile vs. The Other Cell Company looks just like the Mac vs PC commercials Guy in the shaving commercial (Gillette?) who is walking through various scenes and talking just like the Old Spice Guy. Although not presented just like the Dos Equis Most Interesting Man commercials, Heineken's oh-so-fascinating party goer seems like he's supposed to be Heineken's answer to Mr. Dos Equis

Wait, how is that inappropriate in any way? I'm pretty damn offended that I had to sign in because "some users" have decided it's inappropriate. What? To show a guy being welcomed home from war? To show two guys who care about each other? People suck. So much. ETA: Oops. LAX, you're right; you have to sign in because it's a beer commercial. I r smrt. Even so, it's dumb to make users sign in to see a beer commercial when they're all over TV all the time. Oh well. I still stand by my "people sucks" declaration.

I just watched the Budweiser commercial and I thought the two guys were brothers. I mean, that makes the most sense to me - you see him get the call them you see him calling the parents. If they were close growing up, I could see someone calling their brother before their parents to say "I'm coming home." Jeez. Leave it to the homophobic buttholes to ruin what is kind of a nice ad about the folks who serve in our military. Speaking of buttholes... There's a commercial I'm seeing for Klondike bars called "5 Seconds to Glory" in which a guy has to "actually listen" to his wife for five whole seconds. She isn't shrewish, just having a conversation...but because he pays attention to her...he gets two bimbos dancing with him, and a Klondike bar. She gets a hurt look on her face, and I'm guessing the divorce lawyer is not far behind. For this? I won't be buying Klondike bars. Jackasses. I haven't seen this one, but Klondike has another commercial where two biker guys have to hold hands for five seconds in order to get their ice cream, and they stand there cringing and shaking their heads like they can't believe they are actually doing this and boy, they hope they don't catch The Gay before the five second are up. I get that the joke is that these are tough biker guys. But I'd bet plenty of tough biker guys would hold hands for five seconds with someone else in their gang in order to get free ice cream, balloons, and some cheerleader-type women.

So On Demand is suddenly over run with Ramada ads. I don't think I've ever seen ads by them before. The images all really exposed, so there is a lot of blinding white. Then there are all these business people wearing greay suits, and then there are a few red accents. So then a business man is riding a bull, others are forming a conga line, a bride and groom go bungee jumping. And the song that goes,"It's your thing, do what you wanna do" is playing. I don't know why Ramada is suddenly trying to brand itself as the place where business people go to be whacky and unwind.

I noticed that too. The worst part is that they show three or four of them in a row.

Just saw a commercial (for Google Chrome) that's just a montage of It Gets Better videos. ::sobcry:: It is a lovely commercial (and Google has another similar one of all the emails, videos, etc., that a father has been sending to his daughter, starting on the day she was born, to an email account that will wait until she's old enough to see them). But of course, some religious group is pissed off about it because Woody from Toy Story is in it. *SIGH* The Woody clip comes from the "It Gets Better" video submitted by Pixar employees, and the whole video is just lovely.
