I'm finding myself really creeped out by the Jell-O pudding smile commercials. Those smiles are so creepy and unappealing, like a bad clown or ventriloquist's dummy. I'm put off jell-o pudding for life now.

Every time I see the Victoria's Secret "Bombshell Summer", I wonder when I missed the summer they celebrated the waif or the spring of plus-sizes. I think it was a Tuesday...around 12-12:15....

Gah! Memorial Day is bringing out all the commercials with Service people and they are making me cry. Two of the main offenders are from American Airlines - one is with the nice young man in uniform who is super-polite, saying "Sir" and "Ma'am" to everyone and thanking them, then as he's getting off the plane, the pilot comes out and the young man politely thanks him, and the pilot says "No. Thank you" and shakes his hand.
The other one is (of course) the one with the young woman who is getting on the plane and told that service members get priority and get board first. So she kinda sheepishly walks past everyone else in line then she looks over and sees an elderly man watching her. When he catches her eye he stands up and salutes (probably signifying that he is a vet himself). Kills me every time.

I don't think I've seen either commercial, but just reading the descriptions was enough to make me cry

If you really want to turn on the waterworks, you can watch them: First oneSecond oneETA: Is it terrible that when I watch that Life Alert commercial where the woman falls in her kitchen and cries for help and apparently lies there in pain for 8 hours until someone finds her, all I can think is "Those black grapes look really good. Are they seedless?"

oh man...and now I'm a teary mess.
Reminds me of last year, after my brother's graduation from boot camp. I was on the same early morning flight out as many of the newly graduated, on their way to the next stops of their journeys. All young, eager, nervous, excited, etc. All polite with the sirs, ma'ams, thank yous, etc. You couldn't help but look at them with some admiration and respect, even though they were just starting out. Two of the young men from his class have since passed.
on topic...well done and effective commercials, in my opinion.

I'm normally a sucker for the Liberty Mutual Good Deeds/Helping Hands commercials but there latest one just makes me go WTF. The final good deed in a chain of good deeds is someone holding the door for a blind person. I mean, who wouldn't hold a door for a blind person? If she hadn't been inspired by other acts of kindness would the subject have slammed the door in the blind person's face? Shoved her out of the way in the race to be first through the door? ETA: The commercial is here. Click on the"Doing the Right Thing" video.

I had the same thought about the blind person commercial. Like, what sort of butthole would intentionally let a door slam in a blind person's?
I guess Liberty Mutual wants to congratulate her on not being a terrible person.

I'm going to go Elvis on my poor tv if I see/hear the flashmob cell phone commercial one more time.
