Has anyone else seen the new Geico commercial? Do dogs chase cats?I laugh and laugh and laugh some more and then wonder if I'm a simpleton. |

I love that commercial. Combining a dog, a cat and my love of 1970's car chases is made of win.

The Geico commercials have been great. I also loved the "Does it take two to tango?" with the third guy squeezing himself between the couple.
My worst commercials right now (they might be regional, if so, consider yourselves lucky) is something called The General, who promises you a quick loan or cheap car insurance, and a 6th grader clearly did the graphics. Bob's Furniture can suck it too. Everyone is NOT yearning for a leather sectional.
But the worst offenders? Montell Williams, who I know considered himself a legit journalist at some point, now is hawking "cash advance loans" that's sure to bilk people with outrageous fees. I also present Russell Simmons, who must be running out of dollar bills to wipe his ass with, so he's hawking a "RushCard" prepaid debit card.

Wow, I'm out on the West Coast and I thought The General was local because the graphics were so crappy. If you can afford to advertise nationally, you can shell out a few more bucks for better graphics.

I thought The General was regional too. That makes it even worse.
Bob's Furniture can indeed suck it. One of his first stores was in my hometown so I've been aggravated by him for years and years.

Remember the commercial with the Russian guy with the mini giraffe? There's a new commercial and the mini giraffe is on a mini treadmill.

I saw that last night! Another funny one. I also like the bank commercial where a guy's saying "I love my bank's raise your rate cd" (paraphrasing) and the manager is deadpan, "You spent 8 days at sea??"
