Good finale, I could have done with less Wall/Stannis stuff, and I am baffled by Cersei's new carefree attitude. I am also disappointed about the lack of a certain zombie not making an appearance. Have they completely excised that plotline from the show? Sigh. Next season will definitely be interesting storyline wise. I'm not a book reader, but acccording to the spoilers I'm aware of, almost everyone's story is caught up to the books, except for Arya and Tyrion. There are a few random scenes left for Bran, Dany and Jon, but it shouldn't be enough to make a full season out of. I guess Cersei will be battling the Tyrells next season. Sigh. I am also hoping for more white walkers. Yes, I haven't read the books, but I am a spoiler whore. So I was disappointed that there wasn't a certain zombie either especially since Lena Headley tweeted a cryptic picture about this picture that seemed to be a reference to said zombie.

The Cersei-Margaery battles next season will be epic. Can't wait to see those!

They already have taken out Spoiler! Spoiler Coldhands!Hell he was supposed to have encountered Sam, Gilly and Bran by now. When Sam killed the Other and all the birds were around, I thought he would appear.
Also disappointed that the truth about Tysha did not come out. Hell that was the reason why Tyrion went looking for Tywin and ended up killing him in the first place. Due to him constantly calling her a whore. Still a good finale, though some of the dialogue from the books would've been better especially with the Tyrion and Tywin scene.

Well, I guess it is better that the two storylines I find the most boring (the Wall, Stannis) are together. Kill two birds with one stone and all that.
I wish we got more time with Brienne and Arya before things went south. They were all bonding and crap over being ladies who like to do boy things. But the fight between Brienne and the Hound was awesome (though I will miss the Hound - I hope this isn't the last we see of him).
I wasn't impressed with the look of Leaf. I always pictured the Children looking a bit less human-like. But we didn't get much of a look at her, so maybe it will be better. They at least cast a kid who was pretty good with adult mannerisms.
Quite a few changes from the book with the Lannisters. What was up with Cersei going back to Jaime? I only hope that she did it to make sure that she had Jaime on her team since she decided to take a stand against Pa Lannister, not because she's actually into it. All the same, I can't imagine she'll be thrilled with Jaime once she finds out that he helped Tyrion escape. I think I liked they dropped the bitterness in Tyrion's final-final goodbye to Jaime. I like their relationship and I'm kinda glad that they had a nice goodbye. And how fitting that the man who was so obsessed with his legacy and the family image dies on the crapper.
I was surprised that we didn't get the zombie this season too. But I guess they gotta save some big surprises for next season.

They jumped ahead on some things, but no one is close to caught up to where they are in the books.

As someone who hasn't read the books and is spoiler free, I have no idea what's going on. I mean, I do, but unless someone says Westeros or Kings Landing, I have no sense of geography.
Daaamn Tyrion! Yup, he proved himself to be a Lannister after all. Question, did Varys decide to join Tyrion after he heard the horns/warning? Or was that always his plan?
Cersei...I almost felt sorry for her. She's lost all that she's wanted/loved. Although hey, her secret is still safe, so that counts for something.
Brienne & the Hound...great fight. Brienne isn't a knight either, Hound. Now off you go! And yay, Arya, for just being ruthless & surviving.
Bran & the children... I'll have to wait to figure out what the hell that was all about.

Hee, same here, I have no idea what's going to happen. Bran has met God. Or Santa Claus, I don't know.
So did Tywin really never know the truth about Cersei and Jaime? I always thought that this was the reason he despised them. Not that the man needed a reason to hate his kids, he just did. I'm going to miss scenes between Charles Dance and Peter Dinklage. Didn't see that last scene between them coming. Oh my. I kind of love how Tyrion went from being sentenced to death for a murder he had nothing to do with, to killing two people in one night.
Not sure if I should be excited for Arya or not. On the one hand, I'm glad her endless wandering about with the Hound has come to an end, on the other hand, I fear that she might get stuck in a Dany-like scenario, having little adventures far away from the rest of any GoT action. Speaking of Dany...I always feel like I should love her scenes more, since most book-readers seem to adore her. I haven't really liked any of her story lines since the end of season 1. It doesn't help that Emilia Clarke isn't the strongest actress. People (including myself here) criticize Kit Harington's acting but I don't think that Emilia has been much better. Speaking louder when your character has something important/emotional to say does not equal great acting. She's been doing that forever so I guess the showrunners and the directors must be ok with it.
Oh, I know now what that big scene was readers were waiting for. Got spoiled when I read a review because I didn't see the spoiler warning for non-book readers :-(.
ETA: ok, I'm seeing angry comments elsewhere from book-readers who seem to be upset about Tyrion being white-washed. What does that mean? Is he more villainous in the books?

He is whitewashed. He has a singer who knows about Shae murdered and put into a soup, threatens Cersei with raping Tommen, etc. As for Shae, she didn't try to kill him at all like was shown. He killed her and she begged for her life. He also didn't kill Tywin because he dared to call her a whore. Which was stupid anyway, because why have him kill her and then get all defensive over her? He killed Tywin because of another character he was insulting. He also rapes and beats a prostitute but I doubt that will be shown.

Oh wow, that certainly is different from what we've seen of Tyrion on the show.

Tyrion certainly isn't as gray as he is in the books, but I think a lot of the characters have been whitewashed a bit - perhaps to make them more palatable or more relatable. Show Cersei is far more sympathetic than she is in the books. She's pretty much straight up evil in the books. Of course, this show seems to like to make some characters worse if it makes them a little rape-y (Drogo never forced himself on Dany - he waited until she agreed to have sex. And Jaime, well, I think the show just effed up royally with that scene).
Man, I don't blame Varys at all for hopping on that boat. With Tywin dead, that basically leaves Cersei in charge (working through Tommen), and that has disaster written all over it. Jaime will be no good, especially since I can't imagine Cersei will be thrilled once she figures out that he freed Tyrion (even after she donked him to shore up that alliance and make sure he would be in her corner). But even if they were on good terms, she still wouldn't let him make any decisions. King's Landing is about to go to hell in a hand basket, and Varys was right to get the hell out of Dodge.
