Too funny, I love this! My favourite is the one making him look even cooler by adding more accessories

I think they would have sold quite a few of these if they shipped before Halloween.

I think it MAY be eventually coming to Criterion, you guys. Relatively barebones Sony edition at the end of January.
Also, haven't seen Beginners yet but I am totally cool with Brooks winning Best Supporting Actor for this.

Albert Brooks was the bomb in this movie. I hope he wins all the awards.

A publicist for the film sent out the greatest Awards FYC Email Ever after he was snubbed for the SAGs. In full: I want to seriously marry whoever this publicist was.

I just watched this. I thought it was an excellent movie, and the acting was absolutely top-notch. Didn't know Gosling could be so scary, or that Albert Brooks could be scarier that Ron Perlman! And yes yes YES to whoever said that Carey Mulligan and Ryan Gosling did a lot with so little dialogue. Loved that. I also didn't really mind the "shift" in the mood that occurred midway through the movie. Maybe because I thought that the driver seemed off, and kind of creepy right from the start. Yes, he was definitely a sympathetic character, but the way Gosling played it, I wasn't 100% surprised when he turned out to be a scary mo-fo.
I loved that elevator scene. Yea, it had a strange, "dreamy" vibe to it, but it worked for me since it was like the last moment when he can be with her and she still won't really know what he actually is. The moment after, when he looks at her, it's like he let the beast out and knows that she can't un-see it.

Brooks was fantastic in this! The movie itself was not my cup of tea, but I definitely appreciated it -- the acting, the mood, the cinematography were all fantastic.
I know Drive references a lot of other films, but it reminded me of Melville's Le Samourai. Anyone else notice this?

Guys, Albert Brooks made you scurred? I kept giggling at him.
I thought this movie was an effing disaster. Ooh, it's about driving for burglaries. No, he's a stunt man. Wait, he's going to be a race car driver. Another burglary. Shit, mob! etc, etc. But you know I watched until the bitter end because of Gos. Siiiigh. Even though Cary was rockin' the Michelle Williams look, I thought she looked so, so much prettier than Michelle's ever looked. (I used to think Cary was kind of bland, too.)

Yeah. I thought it was a mess. Not many driving sequences for a film, you know, called Drive. Loved the opening bit it went downhill fast for me. I did like Albert Brooks though.
Ad for the much touted violence? I am jaded I guess cuz it was nothing. It was quick and unexpected in one scene but that was it.
Yep, Lena. Reminded me of a couple of French cop/gangster films.
Eta: I didn't want his jacket, though. I wanted his steering wheel.
