Interview with NY Magazine in which Jason claims he's written new Drogo scenes that the makers of Game of Thrones might use. Uh, OK. He also says he's written the script for the Conan sequel already. I cackled out loud when I read your synopsis of the interview. Then I started reading the excerpt and forgot why I was reading it and cackled some more. Then I clicked on the interview and ended up cackling some more. I don't even know why! Maybe he's a good writer. Sylvester Stallone wrote like 20 movies. However, all I can imagine is looks of horror and amusement, in equal measure, washing over the GoT writers' faces while attempting to make it through his script.

I know what you mean, deeconsistent. It's completely unfair to assume his writing is terrible and that his ideas for Drogo's return are stupid, but...I laughed, too.

I'm thinking he's "best seen and not heard," like my great grandfather used to mutter about all of us youngsters. eta: And as much as I enjoyed his portrayal of Drogo, now that I am nearly through A Storm of Swords, I can say that there are numerous other characters whose deaths are vastly more upsetting. To hell with Drogo's death. It's all about "respecting the source material," right, Jason? So leave it alone and please say as little as possible that will make me reconsider my celebrity crush.

Now you've uncovered what I consider the "nerdy" part of this man... his inability to just do his job and let it be.
When he first joined the Stargate cast, there were a bunch of behind-the-scenes stuff where he kept trying to get the stunt coordinator to include his suggestions, which I thought was kind of unprofessional. But his exuberance was a little endearing... although I think he could be a pain in the ass if he starts thinking he has a say in the directoral/production process.
Just shut up and be cute, Jason!

"Sweetheart"?? That just made me grit my teeth.
Ghost/Twin Drago?? I guess he knows a cash cow when he sees one. Back away from the Throne, Momoa...back away.

So, "Conan" opening weekend estimates come in at about $10 mil, giving the film a disappointing 4th place. ("The Help" lands at number 1, pulling in $20 million in its second week.) I'm not entirely surprised, even though it feels like he's become an almost household name in the last few months.

I'm a little surprised, but not entirely disappointed since I suspect the more interviews he gives the less attractive I'll find him. Maybe better for him to stay in obscurity. Or start modeling.

My approach in situations like that is to watch interviews with the sound turned off. That way I don't deprive myself of the pretty.

The movie isn't very good. I saw it with friends on Friday night. It, and Jason did this too in his particular role, just took the complete wrong approach. The first movie was violent, but it was also fun and cheesy and knew how to be silly when the time was right, and the remake should have embraced that spirit. Because really, if you take away the ham and cheese, all you have left is a bad episode of Spartacus: Blood and Sand with a boring storyline. The remake is all doom and gloom, along with lots and lots of gore. And Jason wasn't fun as Conan the way that Arnold was (I can't believe I'm saying Arnold actually did something well). He was all HulkSMASH!!! the whole time, without any goofiness or likeability.
