I'll join you in the paddling pool and we can be shallow together, then, LurkerNan, if that's OK. I actually vastly prefer his physique as Drogo over Conan. As Drogo, you can tell he could crush you but still have a couple of beers afterwards. Post GoT, I actually will make an effort to catch an SGA rerun (if I'm up at that ungodly hour--thanks SyFy). If you have Netflix all five season are available to watch instantly. I would recommend actually getting the discs, however, because the special features are quite hilarious. Be warned, the first season in Momoa-free, but it's still worth watching. ETA. hikertrash, as EvilMinion said yes, you can watch SGA without watching SG-1 and still understand it. There is helpful exposition, mostly through my personal favorite character, Dr. Rodney McKay, to catch people up a bit. I would suggest watching the two part season 7 finale (Lost City parts 1&2) of SG-1 because it leads into the series premier and I think you'd be a bit lost if you didn't see those specific episodes. Having said all that, I started out being SGA only and then started watching SG-1, which is a good show in it's own right. I now own everything Stargate except that animated thing and the last season of Universe, but it will be mine. Oh, yes, it will be mine.

I also have done all things StarGate, but I'm a big geek that way. I was quite upset that they killed SG Universe so abruptly. And because I can't stop making links, here's one of him playing guitar at an SG Con. He seems like such a nice guy .

Darn it, I don't have Netflix...but...a couple of my friends do, so maybe I can just rent the SGA seasons on DVD through them (except maybe for Season 1..what's the point? ) Thanks so much for the info, badtzmaru. LurkerNan, you're right, he does seem like a pretty good guy (and endearingly somewhat dorky). He's actually pretty amusing on the con panels, from what I see, when he's not too hungover or feeling shy.

Of all the GoT actors, it's funny that he's one of the few that will have been exposed to convention-type fans. Aside from Sean Bean and maybe Lena Headey, I think most of the rest of the cast hasn't dealt with fanboy types. ComiCon should be a strange experience for them.

I'm thinking it's going to be a first and last* experience for a lot of them. *Unless they're contractually obligated.

If Sean can survive the years long hoopla surrounding LoTR, then this time around, Comic Con shouldn't be any problem for him. I'd think that cons, especially Comic Con would be pretty overwhelming for anybody. Hell, I went one year and I was overwhelmed and I wasn't even on stage.
