I think she merits a thread now given the armful of statuettes she'll be picking up this awards season. I've loved her since the Soderbergh Solaris/Far From Heaven. She also recently announced that she and her husband are about to adopt.

I thought she was excellent in The Help and I hope she gets at least Best Actress nominations, if not wins.
That's awesome that they're going to adopt!

Every time I watch "Solaris", which is very often, I'm struck dumb by what a near-perfect movie it is, and Davis is such a huge part of that. She simply does not seem capable of hitting a wrong note.

Love her! She starred in a fantastic play called "Intimate Apparel" by Lynn Nottage (who is also pretty fantastic). She was amazing live. At one point her character makes a bad decision, and people in the audience were literally shouting "No! Don't do it!" because they were so caught up and invested in her. I thought she was completely robbed of an Oscar for "Doubt." Haven't seen "The Help" yet but I hope it pushes her career stratospheric. She is a phenomenal actress.

Holy cow, excuse me for not googling her, but she was in Doubt? She was hands down, by far, straight up the best thing about the movie.
Wow. I was lukewarm about seeing the movie when it gets here, but I will see it for Viola Davis.

I am "meh" on "The Help" as the book is so much better but I would be happy for Viola Davis if she wins precisely because of her performance in "Doubt".

It's ridiculous that she may win an Oscar for that overrated Emma Stone saves black maids movie. But whatever, she was terrific in it, if she wins, she deserves it.

That dress is amazing.
She's joined the Ender's Game film.
