I'm super curious as to what exactly is going on down there with Mr. O'Hare. Possibly that erm... 'Third Leg' that gets hinted at in the credits. Methinks you're right on that one! I loved the '20s silent movie re-telling of the Edward Mordrake story. Somehow those old movies like Nosferatu take on an extra layer of creepy because of the flickery projection and lack of sound. Patti LaBelle as Woody Woodpecker? Complete with an impression? That made the show. Dandy and his mom should come to a bad end just for subjecting her to that. I don't have any real issues with clowns, but day-um! Twisty should have his own spin-off over on the Chiller network!...

I'm still fighting my way into this season but yeah, this last episode did a better job of keeping my attention. I'm most fascinated by the Clown, most afraid of Dandy and most interested in Bette's fate. The rest of the characters range from "meh" to "snooze" for me. So far...

I liked all the shout outs to the first Halloween movie in this episode. I haven't seen any critic or reviewer mention them!

Yeah, that totally seemed like a Halloween homage -- the POV shot from behind the mask, the stairs, the piano soundtrack, that clown mask Dandy had on....
The Twisty segments play like '70s horror to me so far -- very psychological, no explanation for his appearance or apparent motivation for his violence and actions. (All the weird stuff hanging from the trees around Twisty's hideaway remind me of Texas Chainsaw *shudder*) They'll probably feel the need to fill in the blanks at some point but in a way I wish they wouldn't. It can be scarier and freakier if things are left to the imagination! I don't really need to know exactly how Twisty's mouth got to be like that. The one brief glimpse of it was more than enough to send my mind reeling!!

So, farewell, Twisty, didn't expect such a sad story. Damn Dwarves!!! However, your protege will certainly try his best to follow in your footsteps. Murdering Patti LaBelle before she could sing, was, simply Evil Itself!
Was the quarter shot of Twisty a shout out to The Blair Witch Project?
I have no clue where this story is going. I probably wrote that exact same phrase 3 other times in the past s 3 years in this thread.

This ep really freaked me out. I had to watch Key & Peele to cleanse myself.

This was a great episode, really pulled the story together and made me anxious to see what's next. Glad the season is picking up.
Poor Twisty, you just knew there was some humanity lurking underneath it all. I hope we see more of him from his Other World persona. I'd hate to think this is the end of his character.

I totally thought the reveal to Twisty's maw was going to be that either one of those dwarves or the toy store owner slipped him an exploding cigar (or joint in the case of the dwarves) as a gag that went horribly horribly wrong. I don't think his murderous, kidnapping ways were totally justified- but it was sorta nice to see there was actually a method to his madness. I mean, no toy store owner and over protective mom didn't deserve to get gutted... but they weren't randomly picked vics either. I'd say I'll miss 'ol Twisty... but I feel like he'll be back in some form or another- so I can't miss him but so much. If not- I'll more than miss two faced Edward. He was SEXY! (On the front side)
I wonder why he didn't visit Dot and Bette... although maybe Sarah Paulson had a week off and was only available for a line or two.
And I'm glad we're getting a bit of back story on some of the 'freaks'... but I still want more. I think that's what been lacking this season- not fleshing out the background characters. I mean, we've barely had anything from Pepper... unless Ryan Murphy thinks we got enough of her backstory in 'Asylum' (Umm... no we didn't!)
And I WILL miss Patti LaBelle. Darn you Dandy! I really hoped she'd get him before he got her. Treat your Divas better, Ryan Murphy! Thank goodness Stevie Nicks stayed safe and sound last season (and wasn't made to do a Woody Woodpecker impression).

Either the cast will need to be resurrected in some form or there are new freaks waiting in the wings, because at this rate there won't be any left. Seriously, WTF???

I got confused here. How do Jessica Lange and Frances Conroy know each other, and how would Jessica know Frances is looking for... a pet? Or a maid?
'Twas a good episode, but it felt like a first episode, where they were setting things up. Unless we're doing chapter plays?
Is the Jack the Ripper reference our clue to next season?
Poor pretty Bomer. At least you still looked pretty with all those phallic stab wounds.
