UGH! This past episode actively pissed me off! I mean bummed me out for the rest of the night. I almost never flail quit a show unless I'm just bored (and in that case, it's just quitting, not flailing) But I think I'm done. If the next episode comes around and I start reading how much everyone loved it and how awesome it was, I might give it a peek. But for right now, I'm just so grossed out and pissed off and side-eyeing everyone hard enough to give myself a migraine.
It's bad enough they already have too many characters and story-lines to keep up with, but then they brought in a whole new gang and Spoiler: They're all real life dead serial killers who get to whoop it up, enjoy their after-life, be celebrated AND rack up more victims. Did you ever want to watch John Wayne Gacy discussing the best use of a crawl space for hiding bodies with Jeffrey Dahmer? I sure as heck didn't! Did you ever want to see Richard Ramierez dirty dancing with Aileen Wuornos... hang on here comes breakfast! ERK! Dude, these folks are dead, but the families of their victims are still out there, so...
No, just no! And the scene swallowed up the bulk of the episode so very little moved forward. I mean, there was a major character change with a main player, and that come off as almost an after thought. And STILL no backstory on Liz! Blergh!
Boo Ryan Murphy and co.! BOO!

I enjoyed the episode. I thought the serial killer dinner was funny. Lily Rabe was fantastic. I knew the mom would turn just to be with her son. I have a feeling the mom being exposed to measles from her patient will somehow be the downfall of Gaga and the vampires. Just a guess.

Yeah, I think you're right--it has to play some part. Seth Gabel as Jeffrey Dahmer was creepy as hell. I really channeled him well.

My hate-on for Richard Ramirez in particular knows no bounds and it took me right out of the episode as soon as he signed the guest book. Not that I'm fond of any serial killers, mind you. But he was always so damn cocky and smug about his crimes just... seriously flames, flames on the side of my face!! I actually felt slightly better about it when Aileen came onto the scene because at least I knew they weren't going to be devoting the whole show to Ramirez. But the dinner scene went on for too long and all the killers were enjoying themselves too damn much and Dahmer actually got to keep his victim like he'd always hoped and it just brought me way down and got me extra ragey again.
Plus with so much time spent rehashing all the deeds of these creeps (which most folks already know about and if not, they're easily Googled) there was zero time for any of the established fictional characters except the doctor woman and her vampire kid, and the stain crazy maid. Which now that we got her backstory, it makes less sense that she'd in any way admire HH Holmes... err JP Marsh.
Blah just Blah!
Although, Ella's measles theory is deeply intriguing! And now I'm wondering if they will do anything with that ... or if that whole plot was just to make a point about the anti-vaccine crowd. I may keep an eye on recaps to see where that goes.

So I am catching up on this week's episode and what I basically witnessed in the first 20 minutes alone is a lot of soft core porn, which(and I feel I am in a safe space here), I am not opposed to. Anywho, this season is meandering and just dumb. The subplot with the vampire children was good, will we see them again? Lady Gaga is very good channeling Gloria Swanson but not much else. Coven really was the best Eason.

(waaay back on Page 6) I completely forgot the new season starts tonight. It's going to be a (likely fucked up) doozy of a season, as Murphy and Company are taking on ... the November Election. Subtitled Cult, it's tonight on FX.

The episode last night was sooooo disturbing. The attic, the nails, the parents, it was all horrible.

I can't believe I didn't see that coming with Frances Conroy's character at the end. So obvious in retrospect. This season is very disturbing, and frightening in the real world sense, but I'm enjoying it as it moves along. I am wondering how they are going to wrap this up and stick the landing.
I will also miss Billy Eichner's obnoxious manly gay hotness too.

I didn't see it coming, either, but, yeah, I should have. I have to say, Evan Peters is really stepping up to the plate this season. He wasn't given much to do the last couple years, so good on RM for giving him something substantial to do.
Also, god, Ivy is a monster. "At least I only drove my wife insane" as opposed to killing her. Jesus.
