Speaking of the acting, when do Evan Peters and Taissa Farmiga get their Emmys? Good God, they were both fantastic in last night's episode. Dylan M. still came off as wooden (does he have more than one facial expression? If so, you wouldn't know it), and they acted circles around him. Unless the writers are trying to convey that the house is turning Ben into a zombie, or something. I hate Tate for what he did, although I'm sure the house had something to do with it, but my heart broke for him last night when he was begging Violet not to die, then asking her what he did wrong. I'm so conflicted! I could have done without the whole "Piggy Man" sideplot (what was the point of that, exactly?), but I have to confess that last night, I used the bathroom at my friend's house and couldn't resist peeking behind the shower curtain before I closed the door. Yeah, I'm that much of a 'scaredy cat. I could also have done without the brain-eating scene. Gah! I understand that Viv is going through a lot, but she couldn't even pick up the phone to express her condolences to Constance? Jeez. Sad. I wonder if we'll get to see Addie again. It's not looking good, but then again, this is a show about ghosts, so ... The first five minutes of last night's episode were extremely hard to watch. Even knowing that all those kids were going to die, it was excruciating, and I kept hoping they'd get away. So, so sad.

Peters and Farmiga were outstanding. And, for the record, so was Stonestreet, in an utterly throwaway plot diversion which only reinforced that which we already know: Ben Harmon is the worst therapist who ever therapped.
Still, though, this show is nothing but button-punching and seems to have no higher purpose than that.

Therapped--hee! I don't think Tate knows he's dead, and Taissa (is it pronounced Tay-shah or Ty-ee-sa?) is conflicted about telling him.
Re: the lawn--so it's just about getting people onto the Murder House property? BTW does it have an address?
Also, I agree, the handsome Morris Chestnut and the bodacious Connie Nielsen (that hair! I will be annoyed if that's all hers, she easily has enough hair for two people) will get it on at some point.

The previews seemed to intimate that something will happen (though it's impossible to tell if it's real, fantasy or a hallucination) and I can't wait. They have way more chemistry than she and DM do.

Morris Chestnut is so crazy hot I can't even. You know who's also crazy hot? Rubber Man. I mean, the actor inside the suit. Dunno why they're keeping his identity under wraps (heh) but if you look up Riley Schmidt, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Viv and Hot Cop (I know he's not really a cop, but that's why my friend and I call him) are definitely going to get it on. Can you blame her? Hot Cop > Ben, any day of the week. And I'd be hitting that panic button all the time too if I were her. I'd feel much safer with Morris Chestnut there to protect me. By the way, did we ever get his character's name? I can't remember it. bklynred, I think all of that is her hair and it is gooooorgeous. She's so pretty. I don't know if I want to look up Riley Schmidt for fear of ruining the *illusion* (said in Gob Bluth voice) that Rubber Man is a scary, faceless menace.

I'd like to know why a show which subjects the audience to an almost excruciatingly interminable school shooting manages to forget to include dialog from the shooting ("do you believe in god?") which was revealed just one week earlier. It's not like it was a minor plot point, either, since it referenced one of the most famous shootings in modern history.

I wonder if that was a false memory on the ghost's part. Tate seemed to be taking his silent man thing pretty seriously (from the shootings all the way to his death).

That bothered me too. Maybe the powers that be decided that the scene was more effective and chilling (and boy, was it ever) with Tate being totally silent the whole time. My nerves were a wreck during the whole scene — I think if he'd spoken, it would have been really jarring.
So I'm guessing either it was the ghost recollecting it incorrectly, or we're meant to fanwank that he said it, but for whatever reason, it was left out of the flashback (yeah, I know, that makes no sense, but remember what show we're talking about here). I guess it could also be a reference to the controversy over the "Do you believe in God?" story from Columbine — exactly who was asked remains in dispute. So maybe we're supposed to think the ghost made it up, or Tate said it to someone else, and she co-opted that detail for her own story? I don't know. It bugs me. I don't know what to make of it.
