Me too! I really like Robert Carlyle and I think he's great in both the fairy tale parts and the 'real world' parts. Rump/Gold was still the best part of the show for me last night. I can't wait to get more of his backstory, and find out if he's really in charge like it seems, or there's some other power(s). I've read a few good theories on there being a possible connection between the Evil Queen's last name being Mills in Storybrooke and her deal with Rump/Gold since Mill could be an allusion to her father Henry the Miller(?) making a deal with Rumpelstiltskin, which might explain why he was willing to spoil her so much in Fairytale World. There's also speculation that since little Henry was born in Phoenix that he could actually be elder Henry in some way, but I'm not sure if they'll go that route or not since him being associated with Phoenix could just mean that he'll bring about the rebirth of Fairytale World.

I'm really enjoying this show and I agree that Rump/Gold was the best part last night. I'm really curious to find out why he is (possibly) the only one who remembers the past. Maybe a part of the deal that she didn't mention to the queen?
I hope that the show continues to do well in the ratings. I've always liked Jennifer Morrison and I thought she got a raw deal on "House".

After watching tonight's episode and the promo for next week, I see the direction that this show is going. I was worried that it wouldn't have enough to carry a story week after week. I have yet to watch Grimm, but was hearing that it was/is better than this show. Is it possible to have two shows on two different networks in the same week that are related to fairy tales? I think so! (And that Sheriff on this show is way sexy.) I watched Grimm and I really don't like it. IMO, this show is better.

Charming comes back next week! Well, the fairy tale version does. I actually really like the whole parallel between Snow's glass coffin in fairy tale land and his glass ICU room in real life. The show is great at visual tricks like that, I've noticed I have to watch each episode at least twice to see all of them. Love Regina's wallpaper and all the evil castle decor.
The biggest dilemma I'm having right now is whether or not Regina and Mr. Gold remember their old selves. I'm pretty confident at this point that Gold does, he seems awfully aware of the whole Emma as the savior thing, plus he made a big point out of how he knows exactly how to manipulate Regina into doing what he wants (a reference to the deal he made with her in fairy tale world). As for Queenie, I'm not so sure. At times she seems like she does, but at other times she has flickers of "Wait, this looks familiar..." without actually realizing the truth.
I want Maleficent's pony/unicorn (ponicorn?).

I'm just wondering since Rump/Gold gave Regina the curse, and clearly knew more about it than she did, that he's exploited some loophole that allows him to remember.
Also it was so weird to see Giancarlo Esposito all non-threatening.

Grimm is okay, but I like this show more. I feel the acting and writting are much more solid.
So, Rumple KNOWS about Fairytale world, but Regina doesn't but has an incling. Interesting! I want to see Malificent again! I LOVED Emma sawing the apple tree, Henry taking the apple from her and throwing it away, and Emma/Miss Swanson's forming bond. David Anders is on next week! SQUEE!

And somehow it came across as cheesier and more heavy-handed than Once Upon a Time, which is weird because I think it's technically darker. I don't think I'll be watching it again.

So how does it happen that two similarly-premised shows debut on competing networks at the same time?I mean, it's not like it's a common genre (like lawyer drama or family sitcom). It happens a LOT in movies toow, two very similar movies come out from competing studios at the same time (Volcano/Dante's Peak, Armageddon/Deep Impact, and I know there are lots more).
Are writers shopping their scripts to multiple studios at the same time? Are studios rejecting a writer's premise and then stealing it, remaking it somewhat and selling it as their own idea while the writer sells his idea to another network? It just seems odd.

I'm curious about that too. I've just assumed that there is a lot of idea stealing going on. A script gives some protection in that at least a writer's words/dialogue is protected but if you're just dealing with ideas, I figure the Hollywood network of writers and producers is incestuous enough that ideas are simply stolen.

Yeah her wallpaper has a forest motif, so does the wallpaper at Granny's Diner and also the wallpaper at the therapist's office has a forest motif in a banner along the top plus he has a range of ceramic mushrooms on his cabinet. All visual call backs to the " enchanted forest " There's probably more but those were the ones that jumped out.
