The movie doesn't premiere until March, but the full 2:30 trailer is supposed to debut in front of Breaking Dawn. I'm only a third of a way through book one, but I'm hooked, and praying that the film makers don't let me down. It's going to be interesting to see if they can accurately translate the book. So far I'm a little iffy on the casting. I don't see Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss at all, nor Woody Harrelson as Haymitch or Elizabeth Banks as Effie.

So sneaking in to the beginning of Breaking Dawn! Honestly, I don't know how accurately they're going to be able to translate the book(s). Some of that stuff is brutal. Still excited, though.

Well, I think the entire premise is brutal since it's basically kids being sent to murder each other or getting killed by adults in most horrific ways. It'll be interesting how all of this will be played out in the movie(s). I still think they'll probably focus a lot more on the love aspect than the books ever did.

Babycakes, did you see the issues of EWs that talked casting? I was iffy on it too until they showed Jen Lawrence "as" Katniss... She looked really good.

EW has all the pictures and the teaser trailer (released so far). I do wonder how they are going to handle the violence/general terribleness of the games and subsequent war. They're primarily aiming it at teens, so I wonder if they will try to tone stuff down, even if the books were also aimed at teens, but there is [spoilered just in case] the violence, the champions sold into sexual slavery, drug addiction, and Katniss and Peeta are a couple of big ol' piles of PTSD. That's all a bit darker than vampires and werewolves declaring their undying love for you[/spoilery stuff].

Yeah, I saw the pics, but she's a little to full in and face for one thing (not that I expected or wanted her to starve herself down for the part). And there's also the demeanor. Jennifer doesn't look closed off and hard enough, if that makes any sense.

Have you seen Winter's Bone? In that, Lawrence showed she can do closed off and hard. That's why I never had a problem with her playing Katniss. She's basically already played her (her character in WB and Katniss have a lot in common - poor living in same region, father gone and mother too depressed/checked out so Lawrence has to take care of the family and hunt for food, younger siblings she has to care/make sacrifices for, etc.).

I'm only a little past the first three pages of the book but it's already four thousand times better written than Twilight. This book just emphasizes how stupid the former really is.
