I wanna wear the Flaming Games nail polish! That looks sparkly and I love sparkles!!! They do have some fun sparkly colors. I like Cinna-mon. I'm just surprised they don't have a sparkly pink color named after Effie.

Trailer! I think I understand how Twilight fans feel. I'm ridiculously excited about this.

I haven't read the books (yet) but that trailer did look great. It's like everything Twilight wishes it could be but isn't. Suspenseful, exciting, well acted and doesn't look like it was made in someone's backyard for about 5 bucks.

No desire to really, but I wouldn't mind seeing how this story will end.

Because I have an art history degree, and trained to read too much into things, it will be really interesting to see how folks respond to this series in a country with OWS and the Penn State Scandal.

Damn that trailer totally got to me, I'm way more excited than I thought I'd be. They really seem keep this one close to the book and a lot that can be seen in the trailer looks exactly like I imagined. The training center in the capitol looks more stylish than I thought it would but that's a minor thing.

Suspenseful, exciting, well acted and doesn't look like it was made in someone's backyard for about 5 bucks. Plus it's a story that involves more than just a silly love triangle. I'm really glad they didn't decide to play up that aspect of the story in the trailer anyway.

I didn't want to get myself too excited about this movie (I wasn't even sure if it was worth "ruining" the book experience by seeing the movie), but I'm really psyched to see it now. The scene where Katniss is being sent up to the arena in the tube, with Cinna looking on was what really nailed it for me--it captured her desperation and Cinna's character as well as their relationship so well. Also, I really liked Gale's scenes with her, which I hadn't expected. Not sure yet about Peeta (but better than I'd expected based on the photos so far).

It looks good so far. It really does look like they are staying pretty faithful to the book (except maybe we'll get a few scenes of Gale while Katniss is away to see what he is up to, rather than having him just in the beginning and end of the book). I'm sure that's to play up the triangle a bit, but it doesn't look like they are trying to turn this into Twilight. I saw one critic who complained that with the "Lady Gaga meets Aeon Flux" look of Effie and Caesar, no one will take the movie seriously. I'm assuming that critic hasn't read the book, because, dude...that is the point. Katniss mentions several times in the book how over-the-top ridiculous the people from the Capitol look and how the kids from her district made fun of their accents. The Capitol is basically ancient Rome with its decadence and its vomitoriums and the tributes are like gladiators - slaves who must fight to the death for the Capitol's amusement. I think Banks nailed Effie in looks and voice. Cinna looks great, Effie looks great, and Rue looks tiny and adorable, which is perfect. My only complaint is that the Fug Girls recapped that Miley Cyrus movie the dude who plays Gale was in and mentioned that he basically has one facial expression, and judging from the trailer, that's kinda true.
