I just read that Jennifer only got paid 500K. On a 90 million dollar budget.
Damn. I hope she can negotiate her way to some crazy Breaking Dawn-level money for the last film.

I think I read that her salary included some sort of back-end deal, so if it does well at the box office, she could pocket a lot more. Here's the new trailerStill little to nothing from the actual games. I like that last shot with Katniss and Cinna, though I think it telegraphs some things you don't really learn until later in the series.

A few new photos. Still not liking Haymitch's Tom Petty hairdo but I do think he will be good in the part. The girl playing Clove is the orphan from Orphan.

I can't believe that they're sending these kids out on a mall tour. It's like they *want* riots and pandemonium to happen. Plus, Lawrence seems cool and level-headed but I don't think she's exactly prepared for Twihard levels of nutty fans.
I'm halfway through the first book and it's gotten me really excited for the movie.

I've started to wonder if the lack of Games scenes in the trailers is due to a lack of Games scenes in the actual film. I guess I'm still wondering how they're going to deal with the brutality of having kids kill each other/running into murderous traps. Maybe the movie's all lead-up to the Hunger Games and then a highly shortened version of events?

I've been wondering the same thing. In the very first teaser trailer they had the fireball scene, so at least that happens. But they would be stupid to cut out the majority of the action - and stupid to piss off the fans of the books by shortchanging them. I'm still crossing my fingers that the lack of scenes from the games is purely a marketing decision, and not because there's not much to show. ETA: They've released the "Katniss shoots the pig" scene.

Lawrence and Hutcherson go on MTV's Yes/No, are adorable. They have a nice chemistry. I'm wondering how much they may have scaled back the violence of the games to still get a PG-13 rating.
