Anyone get their hands on Fenty Skincare yet?

Haven’t tried Fenty Skincare but I do think the reusable container for the sunscreen is kinda genius. Almost justifies the mark up.
I haven’t worn makeup in months. While I do get flare ups, my skin is much clearer. But I do kinda miss eyeshadow and mascara. But when I go out I’m wearing a mask and I have feeling wearing a mask over foundation isn’t a good idea. So, be honest with me Greecies. How insane would I look if I wore eyeshadow/eyeliner, mascara, and blush? 1 being “Not insane at all!” and 10 being “Are you drunk?”

Angelaudie, not insane at all.
I’ve gone back to wearing eyeshadow. I always wear tinted moisturizer with SPF, with maybe a touch of powder, and I’ve done that throughout All This. But I love eyeshadow, so after over four months of skipping it, I’ve gone back to putting it on again. At least it shows when I’m masked! And I admit to putting on lipstick to sit at my computer. All my lipsticks were looking sad and lonely in their basket in the bathroom, so I’m letting them do the job they’re designed for.

In case anyone is looking for a good clarifying shampoo, I can recommend Redken cream clarifying shampoo. I use a lot of products, so tend to get scalp buildup even though I wash my hair daily (probably because I brush my hair sparingly--the curse of curly hair, lol, you really can only use a comb, and when it is wet). Anyway, I used it last night, and, not only is my scalp smooth and free of build up, but my hair looks great today! Shiny and smooth.
I've also been using Amika leave in conditioner, which is great for preventing frizziness. I don't recommend the gel, though, it flakes terribly and makes you look like you have dandruff.

I watched the latest episode of Hot Ones this week, and Drew Barrymore was the guest wearing the cutest blouse. It would look adorable on my daughter, so I looked it up. It's a $1700 Miu Miu silk blouse, so that's a hard no. Or it could be her Christmas present for the next 17 years, I guess. Anyone who sees a fast fashion knockoff, please list here.

Oh, and I love the skirt--which is a steal at only $1,100!
*Goes in search of knockoffs...*

Several years back at some award show, maybe(?), one of the red carpet peeps asked celebrities if they considered a $100 shirt to be expensive. Everyone was "OMG! Yes, that's so ridiculous! Blah blah blah." And Drew was like, "No, it isn't. Isn't that awful?" And I appreciated her honesty. I'm sure a $100 shirt for her is the same as a $20 shirt for me.
So, I just made a hair appointment with a new stylist. The same woman has been doing my hair ever since I moved here after college, so almost 22 years. I can't believe! But I'm ready for a change.
1. She's been working various side hustles for the last several years. Which is fine, do what you gotta do. Her latest venture is some spammy-looking MLM travel site. She texted me a few times about it and it kind of annoyed me. Ialso realized she hadn't shown that much interest in my hair in years.
2. Her client list has gotten smaller over the years. Nearly all of them are natural now, so she mostly does various styles of braids and ponytail extensions. I think she only has one other client who still relaxes. I know natural is the wave, but plenty of people still get relaxers, maybe just not as frequently. I now go four times a year instead of the seven or eight times I went maybe a decade ago. To me, she hasn't kept up with the latest trends. When I leave, I feel like my hair looks a bit dated. I also think she's over processing my hair, so it has that super shiny look that was popular years and years ago.
So I asked a girl at work who has cute relaxed hair. She recommended a salon the next town over. I'm booked for next Friday! My stylist has a small shop at her home and works alone, so I haven't been in a full-fledged salon in about 12 years. I'm oddly nervous. lol

Ooh, tanyak, that's a big move! I hope you like it! Finding a new hair person is stressful.
I have been going to the same person for about 6-8 years now. I have very curly hair and I have been scarred by bad haircuts over the years.* Because it's so curly, it takes FOREVER to grow out when someone messes it up. The person I go to now does a great job cutting curly hair but she cuts really, really fast and always ends up taking off more than I want. Which means my hair incrementally gets shorter and shorter with every haircut. She always has a lot of drama going on in her personal life which she vents about when I'm in the chair, so it's not a relaxing experience. And, like tanyak, I feel like her style isn't so fresh anymore. I'd like a change but I've been burned before so I'm scared to start looking around.
* The worst was when I received a mullet that I did not ask for about 12 years ago. TRAUMATIC.

I found a stylist that specializes in curly hair. One of the key things is to cut it dry.

That said, the fact that she keeps cutting your hair shorter and shorter would be enough to make me start looking around. Is there anyone at your job who has cute, curly hair who you could ask for a recommendation? Or heck, stop some random woman on the street who has great hair. She'll be flattered that you said anything and would probably be happy to recommend her salon. As the personal life chat: That's one of the main reasons I stopped going to my old dentist. They took care of my teeth fine, but were really unprofessional in several ways. The only tech they had was the woman in her mid to late 50s. She was very nice and did good work, but based on her chatter, she missed her calling as a hairstylist. lol As soon as my butt hit the chair, she would start in on some story -- about her daughter, about her grandson, about her girlfriends and their adventures, about random guys. Keep in mind, I saw this woman only twice a year. One of my final straws was during my last visit, she started talking about some neighbor in her condo complex? And she said something about "I think he thought I was going to give him some, but he wrong." Check, please! The next day, I called Mr. Tanyak's dental office to schedule my first appointment. lol
