I used to get this and call it the Carol Brady Flip - it drove me mad. Nothing stopped it when my hair was at a certain length. Ha! Ds2 hasn't had a haircut since January--when the world shut down in March, I described his look as "Shaggy from Scooby-Doo"--now he is definitely rocking the Carol Brady flip!

So a quick update on my hair.
I saw the new stylist last Friday. I liked her a lot. She gave me a mild relaxer and trimmed my raggedy ends. I also liked her process, which seemed to protect my hair. When I left, my hair was swinging! Mr. Tanyak even noted that it felt really soft and had lots of movement compared to when I saw my old stylist. Even a week later, it's still soft to the touch with movement. I wash my hair once a week, so I'll do it this weekend.
She also said that while she understands the reasons for stretching the time between relaxers, my roots are growing too fast to try to go 12 weeks. It's leading to shedding and breakage because I have two textures fighting on my head. lol So I scheduled nine weeks out and will go back Nov. 6. Hopefully I'll still be on an election high!
I still haven't talked to my old stylist, but the more I think about it, the more I think it's fine to move on. It's clear she is no longer interested in doing chemical treatments anymore, which is fine. And while we are friendly, at the end of the day, I'm paying for a service. It's OK to try to find someone who specializes in what I want done. This woman might not be it for long term, but I'm pretty happy today.
But woof! It costs nearly twice what my old stylist charged. lol

It's worth it to be happy with your hair, I think. It's the beauty item you wear every day. (If it makes you feel better I spend $200 every 7 weeks on a cut and color).

I agree: if you're going to spend money on something beauty-related, hair is for sure a good go-to!

I wish bras were sold in odd band sizes. Per online recommendations, I ordered the next band size up and went down a cup, but that didn't result in the right fit at all and was a waste of money.
So now I'm going to order the next band size down and go up a cup and see if that works.

What's the secret to applying lipstick neatly? I just bought an intense, dark red matte lipstick and im afraid that I don't have a steady enough hand to not look like a 3 year old applied it.

What's the secret to applying lipstick neatly? Maybe use a lip brush? I find it easier to be precise when I use a brush rather than just putting it on from the tube.

Use a nude lip liner first to define the area. Apply the red with a brush on the outer area, then work your way in. I usually use the tube for filling in. Blot with a tissue, then do a second thin coat. Use q-tip with remover to remove any mishaps, then a quick bit concealer to redefine edges.

Definitely seconding the lip liner suggestion. I find when I do this it's pretty easy to 'color between the lines.'

Yeah this is the reason why for bold colors I tend to go for liquid lipsticks or lip creams, and with bullet lipsticks I try to stick with nude colors, which don't look crazy if they bleed a little bit.
That being said, lip liner does indeed work wonders.
