But...but...who showed up at her traditional barbecue and ate the hot dogs and flag cake? I can't imagine Jon asking and Kate complying, especially for the whole day. Visitation schedules vary with summertime and holidays. That's probably the only reason Jon had them for the 4th.
Did she really do this? Did she really gather the kids around to watch something from a couple of years ago and encourage them to all lament about how things were better in the past?? What kind of fucked up parenting is that?! You also gotta love the comment about how the show provided them the opportunity to help people, as if it's impossible to do volunteer work without a camera crew following you around.
Cling to the past like mommy kids. Look at how happy we were. We had our crew following us and a free stay at a fancy hotel. Mommy and daddy were together. Go ahead and cry cause the future will NEVER be as good again.
It's possible this was just a made up story to garner pity in an effort to receive free gifts and/or job offers. I really hope so. At least that way the kids wouldn't have been subjected to their mother's pathetic mourning of the past.

I don't know, she used to play their DVDs at nap time, remember? All that shouting, bitching, fighting ... now go to sleep! The fact that Kate tells the kids that company is coming over, and Aidan immediately says, "The crew!! " makes me think that there's a lot of living in the pampered past going on over there.

Kate's CC post this week is pitiful. This is how the poor woman describes herself: Oh, Kate. You are not currently a TV personality or author. You're blogging isn't half as good as thousands of other mediocre moms. Your speaking engagements are very few and very far between. Resume padding doesn't work when your public figure. Kate also wants to remind everyone that she is not only currently a busy woman in need of business attire, she is also currently skinny. Somebody at Coupon Cabin with a sense of humor decided this pic was the best example of Kate Gosselin and her skinny, important, TV personality self. Ha!

Seriously, what's her job? She has a monthly column on this Coupon Cabin website, a nothing site I only know about because of this thread. I can't imagine that pays much. She had that cruise, but it was cancelled. She must get royalties from her books, but they're currently numbers 523,031; 446,878 (that one she shares with Jon and a co-author); and 545,175 on Amazon. So royalties can't be that much. She's still a guest on the talk shows and that probably pays a stipend.
Are her TV shows in syndication? Does she get money from reruns or DVD sales? Meanwhile she has 8 kids and a giant mortgage and property taxes (and did she ever sell their first house? If not that's two sets of property taxes) and she's getting her hair done in New York, buying upscale clothes retail, driving a new car, putting her kids in private school (and weren't some in therapy?) and shopping at Whole Paycheck.
How is she affording even a middle-class life at this point? She must be burning through the money she made when she had the show. I hope she's saved some for the kids because it looks like they're going to need it.

"Business attire"? Chick just wears short sleeveless dresses and fancy heels. And the only business is her semi-regular whine gig on Today.
I don't think the show is in syndication, is it? I've seen an episode or two pop up here and there, but nothing regular. Even Say Yes To The Dress plays every single morning on TLC. I have no idea how she's still keeping that farm life afloat. Unless they paid a ton of cash and have a small mortgage. But that still doesn't account for all the other spending like private school for 8 children. Oh, and heels.

Well, there's this....
So much for a dating show. It looks like Kate is taken. No man could ever compete with a Bella Bar. In fact, these bars might even cause Kate to be more orgasmically happy than koala bears. Yeesh! Way to make it incredibly obvious that you're being paid to promote something.

How much can that possibly pay, though? It cannot be more than 4 figures. And half that goes to taxes. And the further away we get from 2009, the less money there's going to be in this sort of thing. (I forgot, she also stages paparazzi shots of her and her kids). There's another expense.
In a way I respect Kate. She seized every opportunity she had, hustled, got her name and face out there, took every job that came about, and did everything you're supposed to do to have an entertainment career. Good for her. I mean that. But it's not working. And she has kids to support. Kids who deserve the money she's using for all this because they earned it.

This is very nitpicky, but sorry that is NOT making a cake from scratch.

This is very nitpicky, but sorry that is NOT making a cake from scratch. I'm not sorry! Just because an egg and an oven were involved doesn't mean it's a "from scratch" cake. I don't have a major gripe about convenience foods, or at least not one I choose to dump here, but yeah. Cool Whip® and cake mix do not equal scratch. However, I might have been more forgiving had she whipped the cream or buttercreme herself, but no this time.

In the immortal words of Aunt Jodi and Uncle Kevin - "Kate doesn't bake!".
Ahh, I miss those old days.
