I searched for a thread but couldn't find one. Mods, feel free to delete if I missed it.
Anyone else watch this Showtimes series? Surely I can't be the only one. I was vaguely familiar with the UK version. However, over the New years's weekend my cable provider had a free Showtime preview weekend. I watched the entire first season on On Demand, and then ended up adding Showtime to my premium package just in time for S2 (and now I am starting to get sucked into House of Lies but that's another thread).
I love this show and the cast is incredible. While many of the characters are repellant, or at a minimum, morally tone-deaf, it never fails to make me laugh. Best scene of this season (thus far) is Sheila suffocating Grammy while perched on top of the pillow (oh so ladylike), cooing "Go into the light!" This show is my new Sunday night crack (until Game of Thrones starts).

I love this show! So many of the characters are just so despicable, yet immensely entertaining at the same time. The scene where Mickey goes to his house and tells his brothers they need to go kill someone, and they just start planning? That was awesome.

One of the collateral joys of this terrific show is reading comments online of red carpet William H Macy photos along the lines of "OMG, he looks like a homeless person! Is he on drugs?!?"

I've always felt rather 'meh' about Emmy Rossum prior to Shameless but I think she really knocks it out of the park with Fiona. I've got newfound respect for her acting. That scene with Lip at the end of Sunday's episode (school or out) was so well done. Lip is heading down that road and if he doesn't get his shit together, in 20 years he's going to end up just like Frank.

That scene was so intense. I sometimes want to smack Fiona upside the head for her self-righteousness, but I've been wanting to smack Lipp upside the head even more. He has the ability to rise above his surroundings and actually make something of himself and he's just refusing to do it.

I love this show, which sometimes surprises me, because I don't necessarily like ugly and gritty, but this show balances that all beautifully with wonderful dark humor. The shifting lines of morality are fantastic to watch. I really enjoy all of the characters.
I loved Mickey goes to Fiona's house looking for Frank and Fiona's friend (I'm still awful with names) says, "That is the dirtiest white boy I've ever seen" cracked me up.

Is anyone watching this? Last night's episode was both hilariously icky (V, her Mom, and Kev) and really sad.

The look in Fiona's face when she found out Frank is the one who called DCF...damn. She's about to go on the warpath.

We just started watching and love it. Probably half-way through Season 2. V and Kev are my favorite and if anything happens to tear them apart later, I think I'll hunt down the writers. As I said in another thread, William H. Macy is my least favorite on the show.
