There a blind item a few years back about a famous, moneyed singer who lip synced everything and did not sing any of her own songs and was going on tour and her record company and her people were begging other singers to lay down tracks for her but their go tos were saying no? Guesses ranged from Pink to Britney to a few others who were hot at the time. I'd bet the answer was JLo.

There is a track on her album Rebirth called 'Ryde or Die' that was orignally recorded by Brandy. It is basically a Brandy song featuring some faint screeching by the Low. The producers didn't even bother mixing her sound into the track.

She might be a lipsyncer, but I don't know if the BI is supposed to be her -- isn't this summer's tour her first real tour? She's done shows at Atlantic City or something, but she hasn't actually gone on the road before, has she?

She went on a tour with Marc. She's never toured with herself as the big act though.

She actually has quite a nice tone to her voice. Too bad she can't sing in tune at all.

Honestly, very grudgingly and in no way endorsing some of her rumored methods (how's that for a disclaimer?), I kind of in a sideways way admire her. She's taken her looks and very limited talent and made herself into a force to be dealt with.

She's taken her looks and very limited talent and made herself into a force to be dealt with. Her beauty has afforded her various commercials on TV, but as far as her music career, despite promoting herself on American Idol, her album "Love" flopped in the U.S., and the only single that has been successful is "On the floor" (of course with a rapper). None of the other singles and videos ("Dance Again and "Going In") that she has presented on American Idol have reached the top 10 on I tunes in the U.S. And as a judge of live vocal talent, she had the nerve to lip-sync. Her show Q'Viva with Marc Anthony got such low ratings on FOX that it had to be moved from the primetime slot to late at night. Also despite her exposure on American Idol, the movie she was in "What to Expect when your're Expecting" only grossed $10 million its first weekend, which reflects how many people came out just to get a glimpse of " Forbe's most powerful celebrity in the world' on the big screen. She's going on tour, but with Enrique Inglesius (who has successful tours on his own) and Wisin & Yandel to help fill up those stadiums, because its obvious that she could not do it on her credibility alone. I believe that Jennifer Lopez is just overexposed.

I believe that Jennifer Lopez is just overexposed. I agree. There is a rush in the media to say that she is back and successful, but if you read between the lines, you will see that is not correct. She is an actress and a singer and her projects in both areas have not been successful. Yes, she is more visible than she has been in a long time due to American Idol, endorsements and other business ventures, but as an artist, she is not back. Her albums and singles have not been successful and I can't remember the last time she had a hit movie. Her next movie is with Jason Statham and she is not the lead. Her success as a pitchwoman and American Idol judge is all smoke and mirrors, hiding the fact that the industries that she is supposed to be a part of (music industry, film industry) have not welcomed her with open arms. Of course, her people (Benny Medina) and media outlets that lack a critical analysis will assume that her heightened exposure over the last two years indicates that she is successful again. I am not that stupid. What she has become is someone who is famous for being famous. And, in that way, she is becoming more like Kim Kardashian, who is also a successful business woman.

I'm not saying she can sing or act - just that she really knows how to work what she's got. Yeah, it's smoke and mirrors, and she's grossly overexposed, but that's what she wants. The covers keep happening, and the money keeps rolling in.
