This movie fucking rules. I'm not even a comic book fan, but I floved this movie. There are some minor quibbles, but over all, Christ Almighty, this is what a summer blockbuster is. I need to just mail Joss Whedon my ATM card now-- I'll be seeing this repeatedly. I was composing this post on the ride home. It should be mandatory Greecie viewing. 10. It was so fucking loud. I needed earplugs at some points. 9. One part that I was confused on, Loki attacking the gala in Germany, what was that about? 8. Scarlett Jo is/was the weakest link, but she was more than serviceable. Joss sure did like to linger on ass shots of her from behind. 7. Speaking of asses, Chris Evans' ass is pretty fantastic. I may have to watch Captain America now. 6. Gwenyth Paltrow didn't bug at all. This was probably her best performance ever. It's probably because she was in it for 5 minutes. 5. I laughed so much. Not just chuckles, but full out laughing. Joss and his co-writer composed a great script. 4. RDJ was terrific, and the cast has fantastic chemistry. I can't wait for the sequels. 3. The action sequences were some of the best I've ever seen. Nothing was inscrutable, even though things were moving so fast. 2. Loki damn near stole the movie. He got the best lines. (Sneaking Britishisms like quim in to a PG13 movie? Ballsy.) The over the top theatrics, the costume, the hair! But the crowning moment of awesome? His scolding of the Hulk and their subsequent "battle". I missed a full minute of the movie after that because there was so much laughter and clapping. 1. H U L K. Must have his own movie. Hulk/Ruffalo stole this movie. Seriously, they need to rename this The Incredible Hulk and the rest of the gang.

I have to wait until Sunday to see this but I am so excited. I'm glad that everyone is raving about it. Some critics are talking about a Best Picture nod!!!

I saw it this afternoon and thought it was pretty lame. But then I pretty much think all comic book movies are lame and this was no exception. The only reason I sat through it was because I was literally paid to.
First off, the only other related movies I've seen are Iron Man 1 & 2 so for the first 20-30 mins I had no idea wtf was going on. Second, the Loki character has got to be the lamest villain ever. I was rolling my eyes the moment he came on screen. It didn't help that he was pretty much wearing a mullet.
I'd also think that with all the advancements in CGI they would've figured out by now how to create a Hulk that didn't look ridiculous.
It's also at least 30 minutes too long and the plot reads like bad fan fiction - just worthlessly stupid. My first thought after it ended was "well, that's over two hours of my life I'll never get back". I also don't understand how Jeremy Renner continues to get work, let alone leading roles. He is so bland and unconvincing in any type of action role.

Loved it! LOVED, LOOOOVED it! I honestly have 0 complaints. Was the leader of the evil aliens Hellboy?!? Everyone in the theater I went to seemed to think so.

9. One part that I was confused on, Loki attacking the gala in Germany, what was that about? Loki needed that speaker's eyeball -- he either took it out of his socket or visually transported it to Hawkeye's thingamajig so they could get into the secured space and steal the iridium or something. I've only watched Iron Man 1 and 2, and I followed it OK. I do want to watch Captain America and Thor now, because they were definitely my two favorites in the movie. Also, Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner was wry and quiet but wonderful. The ship / office / flying vehicle scenes were much too long. They totally spent half the movie on that thing, oddly enough. Also they added all these "layers" in that I didn't care for (i.e. the whole side thing about what SHIELD or Nick Fury wanted to do with the Tesseract, how Fury's real purpose might have just been to unite the Avengers by making them each realize they had to protect the Earth, blah blah blah I don't know-- the last movie I watched in theaters is also a Whedon one, and I thought both was trying to be more than it needed to be. Anyway, it was still a fun early summer movie. There were times when I laughed out loud enough that I couldn't hear the next few lines. I loved Thor SO much, I have SUCH a crush on Chris Hemsworth AKA hunkier Gale. ETA: I also thought Loki the character was kind of lame. I don't know if he was a more interesting character in Thor but he didn't even do crazy 100% here, he was just like a kid who was kicking dirt because he didn't get enough attention.

To prada: Nope. From what I briefly researched: It's some dude named Thanos. I Googled him, and he had a greenish/blue color. Why he's red in the teaser is a mystery to me. I guess it's safe to assume he's the main villain in the sequel. . I may need to brush up on some comics. Also, does anyone know that the Alexis Denisof (Wesley from the Buffyverse) cameo was? I missed it. And more than 7 hours after leaving the theater, and I'm still laughing over the Hulk trying to "fist-bump" Thor and his "battle" with Loki. Cheap laughs I know, but the kid inside me loved it. Thanks save lilo! I vaguely remember that exchange, but it was brushed over kinda quickly to get to the bigger action sequences, that it kinda got lost in translation for me.

I liked it a lot too. ScarJo might have actually been my favorite. You could definitely see Whedon's influence all over with her. And not just in fun, Buffy-esque fight scenes but in how he gave her genuinely important parts of the battle to handle. He made her really capable and smart and I loved it.
Chris Evans' ass is a marvel. No pun intended.
That second post credits scene was perfect.

Just got back from this movie; it was totally awesome. I didn't feel like there was a weak link. Loved it start to finish, and it really never let up.
I thought ScarJo's Black Widow kicked major ass. The RDJ-Chris Evans-Hemsworth eye candy certainly added to the experience.

This movie was awesome. Entertaining from beginning to end. Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans can come into my bedroom anytime that's for sure. I thought it was funny how there so many ass shots of ScarJo and Captain America. He had a very nice ass. Hulk stole the show, loved the way he whooped ass all over the place.
I thought ScarJo was very good. She did very well acting wise in the scene between her and Loki.
Now I'm kicking myself because I left before the credits ended. What happened?

Not sure how long it'll last, but here's a clip someone posted. Just the gang sitting in a wrecked restaurant, silently eating schwarma.
