Alexis Denisof was in the movie?? Where? Shamelessly I would go see the movie just to spot him.
What I loved most about the Hulk is that he was fun. Even Bruce had a nice sly humor that wasn't wacked out on emo angst.

So am I the only non-Whedon fan who saw this? I saw it more in spite of him as I can't stand him or his work normally. He's always casting skinny petite women in improbable action roles, and he's clearly just so in love with himself it's kind of disgusting.

I'm ambivalent about Whedon. Half the time I really like him, and half the time I am aggravated out of my mind by a lot of the same things as you, roisin. Personally, I was really pleasantly shocked by what he accomplished with this movie - both in terms of the quality of the movie and the box office success it's having.
I guess ultimately, I'd rather see someone like Whedon get to write his own ticket in Hollywood than an out-and-out sexist hack like Michael Bay.

I'm not sure if that was him under the makeup, I've only read reports that it was his voice. So don't feel bad if you didn't spot him, it would have been impossible. Besides the, "He's adopted." line from Thor (which I should feel bad for laughing so hard at, my second favorite line has to be, "Son you've got you a condition.". I think that line got the third biggest laugh in my theater. ETA: For your viewing pleasure. Captain hitting the bag. Look at that ass jiggle. Happy sigh.

Great movie. I had no expectations for it. Surprised how much I enjoyed. There were a lot of laughs my favorite being Hulk punching Thor off guard.
Mark Ruffalo was great as the Hulk.
RDJ was of course funny as Tony Stark.
When I look at Renner all I can see is a younger version of Joe Pesci. He does nothing for me
Scarlett was surprisingly good.
I agree Chris Evans ass is a sight to behold!
I've liked Chris Hemsworth since Thor.

I saw it, and loved. But damn if it was not shocked, disappointed, and angry about the fact that they killed agent Phil Coulson. I teared up at that point, he was seriously my favorite character in the Marvel universe movies. It was a pretty damn good movie though, and I agree that Mark Ruffalo was the stand out. I've admired him for a while, but I have a full blown crush on him now. Would definitely pay to see him do a full length Hulk movie.

This was awesome! Just a really fun action movie. I really liked how everyone on the team got to do something important. Everyone got to kick some ass too. This was one of the bigger problems of the X-Men movies, all of which were basically the Wolverine and Friends Show. Tom Hiddleston in particular was awesome as Loki, who practically stole the movie as many charismatic villains tend to do. RDjr and Mark Ruffalo were up to their usual best playing two very different characters. The two Chrisses(?) did as best they could to make the most of what are probably difficult characters to bring to life. Captain America is in the "perfect and flawless, so kinda boring like Superman" mold and Thor is downright cheesy. Loved how Iron Man cut him down with the Shakespeare jokes!
Okay, one complaint: not nearly enough shirtlessness from the Avengers, especially when it was very apparent that they were in tip top shape. Throw us a bone, Joss Whedon!

Loved every single bit of this movie. No complaints. No weak spots. I cannot wait for the inevitable sequels to come. My lasting faith in Joss has been rewarded. He kicked ass. I will be seeing this one a couple more times.
Oh! Thanks for all the info on Hulk/Loki, Alexis, and the villain.

MrB laughed at me, but the paramedics rushed up to him afterwards and they could have brought him back! I am still processing how awesome this movie was. No weak links, fantastic action scenes, Whedonesque one-liners.....LOVED. IT. Best Hulk yet and I could not stop looking at Renner's arms, oh my. Did anyone else feel like Ruffalo's Banner/Hulk was a homage to Bill Bixby? I was a big fan when I was a kid and I felt like I was watching the television series again.
