Suzanne Somers really did have breast cancer. She might not have had the lipo because of it, but at least she really had the disease.

I have never seen the show, Growing Up Gotti, but from the promos, her sons skeeve me out - the same way Bruce Jenner's kids do in their show promos. What are the Gottis like on the show?

OT, but as for the Jenner kids, there was a huge article in the Calendar section of the Los Angeles Times a couple of days ago about their show and the fact that Linda Thompson (the King's last gf) filed for divorce a day after the show premiered.

Apparently expecting a class act from a body willing to expose their most intimate secrets on reality TV is too much to ask. Wayyyyyy too much to ask.

ETA: I've never watched neither show, either.... I'm just saying... she and her progeny just come off as bottom feeders...

Since A&E was kind enough to provide large blocks of episodes for me to sleep through watch on Monday (I was sick and needed something totally mindless to match my mental state), I can tell you that the whole family comes across as idiots on the show. I kept seeing "Hotti Gotti" stuff at one point and still can't believe it. I think one of the shows had two of the sons going out on a double date, and they were rude and idiotic (although their dates weren't looking like Mensa members, either.)

I can't compare them to the Jenner kids, because I didn't watch the show.

No, she didn't. She had precancerous cells, which are abnormal cells that may or may not become cancer at a future date. There is a big difference between declaring that you have breast cancer and having abnormal cells. I have also had abnormal cells removed, but I don't and never have had cancer.

Exactly, Guinastasia. I don't get it either.
But as for the cancer, I had pre cancerous cells too, and left untreated, would have gone into cancer. So I don't think she is lying about it. Maybe playing it up a bit for publicity, yes. Paris used her "lost" dog, but you don't use cancer to drum up interest, people don't like that.

She did not have cancer according to the new york post. Precancerous cells are not cancer - everyone has them - usually your body's defense take care of them. If precancerous cells were cancer than everyone who has a funny mole removed could cry cancer. (And I have many reasons to be sympathetic to cancer survivors, since I am one.)
If you want to be an apologist for someone, please choose someone more appropriate than Ms. Gotti. Her antics just distract from the people who are truly inspirational and handle it with grace and dignity: Melissa Etheridge, Kylie, Olivia Newton John, Dana Reeve.
Oh yeah, she also claimed to have a law degree from a school she never graduated from. And this is her second time lying about breast cancer - she did the same thing four years ago.
