Yes! I don't trust Stabler's replacement partner from SVU (aka 'The Art Dealer'), either! Something is fishy about her and the fact that she's so chill with Ryan and wanting to chat him up so easily.
If I experienced what she did and knew that they blamed all of it on Ryan and did my 'research on the internet' as she said, I'd stay as far away from him as possible.

On a completely and utterly shallow note, Kevin Bacon is a very fit man, especially for 55! I rather enjoyed last week's jogging and this week's shirtless first aid scene.
I loved Ryan's totally thorough background check on Miss Art Dealer, too, which appeared to consist of a gratuitous Windows 8 product placement driven search for her on Bing.

I still don't understand why all these idiots are FOLLOWING Joe. He didn't even have a clear manifesto! Was it just "Yay, murder somehow stupidly connected to Poe?!" I mean, argh. *cries into hands*

That is the issue. How does he influence people to such a degree? Why are so many people taken by him? The essential backbone of this show is missing. Every week (or 2; I DVR this) I wonder, "But why?" This show got renewed solely on the strength of Kevin Bacon.

I've never seen a charismatic anti-hero with less charisma. It strains credulity that this many smart (but evil) people would be taken in by this man. Lily Grey and her creepy twins are more believable as supervillains. |

This guy is generally a good actor but this role is beyond him. Purefoy? In a perfect world Bacon would've been the villain and they would've plotted out a 1-3 season arc for him that didn't involve killing off everyone he loved in the first season. I just don't see the progression. Who cares that crazy mama has crazy twin sons? Why is this timid black girl in love with Carroll? I mean, I grew up without a consistent father figure & I never considered KNIFING my MOM when she started dating again. None of this rings true & without Bacon's name I believe this would never have been renewed. The initial wow factor was wearing thin last year. Now it's all just awful and chaotic.
And Carlos? I loved you, but you were a f*cking moron, messing with a bunch of psychopaths whose language you did. not. speak. They looked at him like he was a pork chop the whole time, and he was cool with that? I thought Carrollers were intelligent people wanting "more" from life (which in TV terms, means murder for some reason, and not skiing, RPG or other hobbies).

I mean, I grew up without a consistent father figure & I never considered KNIFING my MOM when she started dating again. I just laughed so hard I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything. The latest episode is still sitting on my DVR. I don't know who greenlit this and who renewed it, but I'd like to make them WATCH the damned thing and see how ridiculous it is. I can't even. I think I'll just read this thread instead of watching the show.  |
