He's definitely one of those performers whose talent makes up for his personal yuckiness (for lack of a better word).
Woody Allen, Russell Crowe, and Billy Crudup all fall in the same category for me. I think they've made some pretty scummy choices in life but I can still appreciate their acting and/or writing.
Tori Spelling on the other hand...
As far as him rebounding: I think it's been established that Crudup LEFT Mary Louise Parker for Claire Danes. Supposedly Crudup had a crush on her for years. (Which considering their age differences is rather creepy in and of itself).
