I really can't figure out this year's summer box office, at this rate we won't see another Pacific Rim movie but we will probably get Grown Ups 3. But I can't recall such a crowded summer for movies.

I know, I'm way ahead of my average of movies seen for this time of year. I saw 4 last weekend.

Man, I wanted to like this but I really didn't. I thought it was kind of cheesy, and I didn't read about it before so I wasn't aware of all the godzilla-type imagery. I felt I could anticipate everyone's dialogue. Elba and Hunnam were easy on the eyes, but other than that, I couldn't believe Del Toro directed this.

Went to see this yesterday and while it's not a bad movie, I could have waited for it on cable.

I came across this on HBO the other night and after dealing with a screaming baby all afternoon, it was just what I needed. Hoping that the lead actor didn't just disappear after this came out, I looked him up and yes, I'd say he's done alright for himself.
Probably since I wasn't expecting much, I did end up liking the movie.

I really liked it, too. It's one of those movies I can watch any time it's on. I know it's not exactly a masterpiece, but I guess I'm just a sucker for the Humongous Mecha genre.
