I saw this and liked it. I hope what I think happened at the end really happened.

I wish I knew how to do spoilers here; I have so many questions. I liked the movie but my problem was that the first forty-five minutes dragged, a lot, and the last half hour went by too quickly. They should have used the full ending and cut back from the beginning.
To me the theme of the movie was, what would it take for you to become a monster? I think it was interesting that Jackman's character was a survivalist because the basic premise of a survivalist is that if some kind of shit happens in this country, you have to protect yourself because some people will become monsters due to lack of food, water, etc.
I think this movie also showed that people are just wired differently; two people can go through the exact same experience and react to it differently and no one knows why.

I'm sure {Spoiler}Hugh Jackman's character would have done time but I don't think he would have cared, knowing that both the girls were saved . I thought it was a very clever, complicated portrayal of whether the ends justified the means.
