I just got back from seeing this and it was excellent. This is definitely the movie to see this Fall. It has great acting, a great plot and plenty of real drama. If you were in any way on the fence about seeing this one just go. It was that good.

I wasn't going to go because I HATE Terrance Howard, but Hugh Jackman's in it and the story looks awesome, so maybe I'll try and see it, probably won't as I never have any time these days.

Terrence Howard is very much a supporting player and the focus is pretty heavily on Hugh Jackman's character.
I thought it had a few too many twists and turns for its own good. Unbearably tense movie at times, though.

It took me a while afterward to make sense of all the twists, but I did like it. It was very tense and very well done. The ending was perfect.

I saw this yesterday. Between the tension of this movie and Breaking Bad last night, I had to take a Tums and an extra 1/2 of a klonopin before bed.

Saw it at the Toronto Filmfest. The Director introduced the movie and apologized that there really wasn't a good point to take a bathroom break although he joked that when you see Terrence Howard talking to the horse (which isn't in the movie) you have 2 minutes!
I thought it was very well done. Hugh unlike I've ever see him before. A ball of anger & rage. I must admit with the hair, tats & moody demeanour I found Jake sexier than ever.
The ending certainly left me wondering what happened next...

I don't think much good happens next. At least for some of these people. I'm a little confused as to {Spoiler}why the girls were kidnapped. It wasn't a religious thing was it? A "war against God"? They did it JUST to create bad things in the world? The last 20 minutes was a little rushed, but then again, it's a long movie, but then again again, it never felt long. I would highly NOT recommend this for parents. I was a lead volunteer for the Anthony Martinez case in Beaumont, California, outside Palm Springs, in 1997. I got to know his family, and was with his grandmother when the news came in that they found his body. I've seen the anguish but still can't imagine what that must be like to go through.

And I totally didn't catch that {Spoiler}the noise Jake heard at the end was Hannah's whistle, meaning Hugh was still alive and was blowing on it. One of my friends had to point that out to me.

I read that Jake had the idea for the tats & the blinking based on the mention that Loki was in a boys home as a child. I think they wanted to keep the character mysterious but hint that he was also in his own way damaged.
