Watched the first two episodes online so I could catch last night's Halloween episode and then forgot about it.
I love Rebel Wilson but the show needs more super FUN.

I've only caught bits and pieces of talk about this show and still can't figure out it's point. Is it about some girls who every episode will have a Super Fun Night, girls whose lives revolve around other things, but always culminate into them having a Super Fun Night, girls who had a Super Fun Night and will spend the rest of the series dealing with the consequences of what happened on that Super Fun Night. Or is it like '24'. A single Super Fun Night broken down into real time 1/2 hour segments?

It's about losers. Losers who love to lose, who accept losing, who don't know they are losers, who know they are losers and don't care, and losers who hate to lose. Boy losers that think they are too good for girl losers, girl losers who think they are too good for boy losers, good looking people that don't know they are losers, and, most oddly, the effete British gay guy that all the girls lust over, which, the women being 30 something successful business women, is a little sad.
One of the most appealing aspects of Rebel is her delivery with that Aussie accent. But in this show she's an American, and her delivery is flat. So that is a total fail as well. It is too bad. I can't see how she can suddenly be Australian, so 50% of her charm is gone. When I like every one of the other actors in the show more than Rebel (who was my favorite part of (Bridesmaids) there is a pretty big miss here.

Saw the trailer, only laughed once ('how about now', when they try to get into a club), so, I won't be checking this out.

I found last nights episode better than the first two. I do love her friends. They make the show for me. The guy she likes is good too.Actually all the cast is good but something is off. As a big girl, I hope it's not because of her size. I'd hate that I'd be offended by the fact a large girl couldn't win the guy from the skinny girl.Do I discriminate against plus size women...being one myself? I need some chocolate.

A little OT, but I think (being overweight myself) that it is wired into us to think differently about anyone with a few extra inches. The constant media bombardment of skinny (photoshopped?) people doesn't help either. I haven't seen any of her movies, but I have heard they were funny. Maybe it is just the writing. Writing comedy is not easy.

I love Rebel Wilson's usual characters, big ballsy babes that get all the guys. But that is not her character in this show. She is an insecure American girl who is the ringleader for her friends, but shy around the Brit guy she has a crush on, and jealous of the skinny blond nemesis. She is basically Ugly Betty, I guess. I think the show wants the Brit guy to really like Rebel, and she him, and they make googly eyes at each other, but the blond chick is just bulldozing over him.
Man, I so want to like this show. I really like the room mates and the guy neighbors, the writing and sight gags is some of the best of the (pretty weak) season but Rebel has so screwed up her own character, it just doesn't seem like there is much room to fix it.

Meh. I still aay The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife are the superior new comedies on ABC this season.

I love The Goldbergs. Trophy Wife is good, too, but I hate the hippie ex-wife and the Asian kid. The absence of laugh tracks, though, makes me happy.
