I took Peaches' question to be less that those kids would be considered illegitimate, and more along the lines of, could older illegitimate children become higher up in the line of succession if there's a divorce? It may not be something legal but a divorce could potentially shift public perception and allow for changes to occur if there's already precedent. Ah, I see. No, a divorce alone wouldn't change the line of succession. The only way it could be altered would be if Albert married Nicole Costa, mother of his son Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste, which would legitimize him. Children of unmarried parents can be legitimized after their parents marry in Monaco (I believe also in France). When Princess Stephanie married her first baby daddy, her two children by him were legitimized. Alexandre is older than the twins, and could therefore theoretically be added before them to the succession. Albert's daughter Jasmin is older than Alexandre, but her mother Tamara Rotolo was married to someone else at the time of her conception/birth and so she cannot be legitimized by them marrying. However, Albert has said publicly that neither Jazmin nor Alexandre will be in line for the throne.

Interesting! Thank you for the insight on that. And topic? Poor effing Charlene. I feel like all modern day royal romances have the moral of Girl, no! Take that, Disney.

Albert looks like he probably sleeps in a suit.

Charlene is back in Monaco, but she is still ill and avoiding public duties. This poor woman is miserable!

I mean, everything about this situation screams that she hates her life. If not for the kids, I doubt she would've come back.

One day, maybe, we will read the true story of what is going on with her.

Charlene is back in Monaco, but she is still ill and avoiding public duties. This poor woman is miserable! And now she is apparently not staying in Monaco currently, according to Albert. The fact that he mentions it’s not just “physical fatigue” that is keeping Charlene in seclusion is probably the most direct reference he’s made to her pretty apparent mental illness. I guess it’s too much to expect that the royal family that dragged her back to Monaco to get married would let her get divorced and just go live a life separate from her husband (and unfortunately, but probably necessarily, kids). Very sad.
