I'm glad he's alright but... I thought he had died awhile ago! Oops.

I think they know he's alive because his daughter saw a picture of him being loaded into a boat. Other than that, I don't thin anyone knows where he is right now. From the news, I gather that things are worse for the refugees as a combined body than they were when they were individually stranded, so I hope he isn't caught in the crush of unhappy folks being housed in those few refugee areas...

Yep that's what I heard about him too. He got rescued but since then, nobody knows where he is. They say he lived alone too.

After reading about Fats' musical history, I may have to go look up his early stuff. I didn't know how much of it stemmed from the drugs-and-voodoo culture of New Orleans.
