The Lego Movie

I had no plans on seeing this movie but I went to lunch with a couple of friends on Wednesday and one of them raved about it. He had seen this with his kids and was planning on going back to see it again.
I was interested after this, but got sidelined when Dr Strangelove ended up playing at the local Bowtie Cinema on Friday night and I went to see that instead. 50 year anniversary and great as always. 
Since we on the east coast are getting some crappy weather tomorrow, I decided to go out and catch the Lego Movie on Sunday evening.
I really enjoyed it as I had no idea what to expect going in. There were several shout outs to movies old and new and I thought they did a fine job with this one.
It is also fast moving and I can see why my buddy wanted to see it again. I will probably pick this one up on DVD/Blueray when it comes out to catch everything.
I was really surprised how funny Morgan Freeman and Nick Offerman were in this.
If you have kids, or even if you don't, I would recommend going out to see this one while it is in the theater.
I did not see it in 3D - I don't like it - but that seems to be a popular format for this movie.

Just watched this...I had heard it was funny but had no idea how much I would love it. I was crying at some points, I was laughing so hard. Really well done and I think I actually liked it more than my kids did.

I hated this movie. I love Pixar, Disney and most kid movies and thought this movie was boring. My nephews were bored and didn't even make it through the whole movie. The only part they laughed at was the part where the cop car was turned into a baby carriage by Batman, because their go to insult is baby.

Oh man, I didn't expect to like a PG movie but maybe my mood + 3D...I thought it was extremely funny. Not sure if it'll hold up over time but I did catch myself singing "Everything Is Awesome" ironically the other day.
