Alright you Wes Anderson fans out there..... I know you are planning on going out to see this movie this weekend as we have to support the man and it looks great. Has anyone heard anything about early sneak previews or anything?

My friend and I tried to see it, but it was sold out in LA. We're seeing it next Saturday. Can't wait!

I'm going to a screening tomorrow! I will report back.
ETA: Alright, all screenings have been sold out when we've tried to buy tickets. Dang. I will still report back; we are planning to go this week!

Saw it last night. I was shocked that the theater (Arclight Hollywood) was only 1/2 full. I adored the film, but have a major criticism. Why must Wes kill an animal every f*cking time?
Ralph Fiennes is sublime. I love F. Murray Abraham, but I couldn't totally buy him as the older version of Zero. Young Zero looks Indian or Pakistani to me, and FMA does not. That said, they both performed well.
I'd forgotten Jude Law was in this. He's lovely. Such a gorgeous, gorgeous voice. I also loved the cast of Anderson favorites making cameos. Bill, Jason, Owen, Tilda, Ed, Adrian, Bob, Warris.... The costumes and set decoration were magnificent.
I highly recommend!

I loved it. I haven't really liked a Wes Anderson movie since Darjeeling Limited, so I went in with low expectations and so was pleasantly surprised. I did however think it was awfully dark for a Wes Anderson movie. There was an unusual amount of blood and violence and death so that was kind of surprising.

The amount of violence surprised me too. Ralph Fiennes was great, but I wish the stalwarts from the Wes Anderson Repertory had made longer appearances.

I know, there wasn't nearly enough Bill Murray for my liking.

It's finally coming to the Detroit area this Friday. I think I can get TTMR to see it. I was really unhappy when I realized it was doing a limited release.

I finally got to see this one tonight. I liked it ok but I did not love it. For some reason I found I enjoyed this film at a distance. (kind of like remotely ?) I liked the story within a story, but i did not warm to it like I have with other Wes Anderson films like Fantastic Mr Fox or The Royal Tennenbaums. Also the usual actors had much smaller parts this go around.
