With the exception of Andrew, I can’t see Charles sidelining Anne, Edward & Sophie. They are generally regarded as quite hard working and good value for money. I can definitely see Andrew’s girls getting kicked to the curb. I don’t know that Edward & Sophie have any desire to have their kids participate in royal duties but I imagine that likely wouldn’t happen anyway under a slimmer monarchy.

From my understanding Sophie & Edward really work hard in bringing a "royal" presence to minor stuff, and Anne is a hard working royal as well--there should be a place for them in the "slimmed-down" monarchy.

I've read that Edward and Sophie's children don't have the HRH title.

I've read that Edward and Sophie's children don't have the HRH title. They don't. Edward and Sophie requested that their children be styled as the children of an earl (Edward and Sophie were made Earl and Countess of Wessex on their marriage). So, we have Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor and James, Viscount Servern.

I saw somewhere that even though their parents asked that they not be titled HRH, they are entitled to it as male-line grandchildren of the monarch and (I think) can assume it once they turn 18 of they wish.

Sophie seems to take Louise (who's 16, I think) to a fair number of engagements. I think that's a good thing, showing her the responsibilities that come with the privileges.
